If A Guy Sees Me In These 10 Situations & Still Stays, I’ll Know He’s My Soulmate

There are a few situations I want the guy I’m dating to see me in before we say “I love you” or start planning a life together. He has to experience me at my happiest, my saddest, my worst, and my absolute best — that’s the only way we’ll know if we’re really meant to be together. If he sees me in these 10 incredibly vulnerable and intimate situations and sticks around, I’ll know he’s my soulmate.

  1. Grieving. He sees me when I’m mourning — grieving the loss of a parent, grandparent, friend, or even pet. Or, I’m crying so hard that my nose starts running and I’ve completely retreated into myself because the sadness is too much to handle. If he supports me through that, I’ll know he’s the guy I’m meant to be with.
  2. At An Awkward Family Dinner. We’re at dinner with my slightly inappropriate family and they ask him way too many personal questions about his family, past girlfriends and bodily fluids while I’m forced to just sit there, quiet, and incredibly mortified. If he finds them entertaining and doesn’t have a problem answering their invasive questions, I’ll know he’s my soulmate.
  3. Pissed Off. My boss was rude to me or my friend acted like a complete snake and I’m voicing my disgust in a very animated and very loud way to him. If he listens and actually gives me advice and support, I’ll know he’s the right one for me.
  4. Watching “The Bachelor.” I’m staring at the television, unable to pay attention to anything but the nonsense that’s happening on the screen in front of me, all while judging the hell out of every single girl — except Vanessa (she’s amazing and she’d better win). If he watches the show with me and rolls his eyes every time Corrine speaks, I’ll know he’s a keeper.
  5. Sick. I’m posted up in the bathroom or coughing so hard it sounds like I’m going to bruise a lung. Or, I’m unable to put on makeup, take a shower, or wear anything but a robe because I’m too nauseous to move. If he takes care of me when I’m sick without feeling grossed out, I’ll know he’s my unicorn.
  6. Pissed Off At Him. I’m brutally honest, truthful, and completely open about how upset he made me and I’m too busy screaming to let him speak because I think what I’m saying is incredibly important and I want to make sure he hears every word of it! If he doesn’t tell me to shut up when I’m being vocal about my feelings, I’ll know he’s my perfect match.
  7. Drunk. My thoughts are completely unfiltered because I’m drunk and I’m no longer hiding my insecurities or worried about saying the “right” thing. If he can have fun with me without taking advantage of my inebriated state, I’ll know he’s my own Prince Charming.
  8. With My Friends. I’m acting incredibly obnoxious because I’m with my best friends and we’re laughing and screaming profanity at the top of our lungs even though we’re in public. If he laughs along with us and doesn’t find our blithe disregard to conform to social norms annoying, I’ll know he’s my partner for life.
  9. On My Period. He experiences just how moody I am when I’m on my period. I’m moaning in agony from the constant cramping and headaches or rushing to the bathroom every 30 seconds to “take care of business.” If he doesn’t mind being around me when I’m grouchy, irritable, and snapping at everything he says, I’ll know he’s the one I’ve been looking for
  10. Not Aware That He’s Watching. I’m singing along to whatever Ed Sheeran song is playing on the radio, talking to myself (out loud) about what I have to accomplish that day, or checking the mirror for any possible boogers. If I do one of these things without knowing he’s watching me and he isn’t bothered by it at all, I’ll know he’s my soulmate.
