All I Want Is A Guy Whose Actions Match His Words

I’m so sick of guys who are all talk. I’m looking for a man who can put his money where his mouth is. I’m done falling for false promises and pretty words — from now on, I won’t accept less than a guy who SHOWS me exactly how he feels for me.

  1. If he says he’s going to be there, then he should be there. I’m sick of guys convincing me that I can depend on them and then when I actually need them, they’re nowhere to be found. If he makes me a promise, I expect him to keep it. I need a man who’s going to be there for me — a man who I can lean on. If the guy I’m with can’t do that, then I’d rather be alone than disappointed.
  2. Actions speak louder than words. Why is it so damn hard to find a man who will actually live up to his word? I want a man who holds himself accountable. I don’t want to bully, beg, or manipulate a man into loving me the way I deserve. So from now on, if a man’s actions contradict his words, my only choice is to leave his confusing ass behind.
  3. I want to be able to trust him. How are we supposed to build trust if he can’t live up to his words? If he says that he loves me, but acts like I’m just any other girl, this relationship is never going to work out. Love is about both show and tell. I need to hear he loves me, but I also need to see it. If I don’t, then how will I ever be able to trust that his love is real?
  4. I don’t deserve to hear words that he doesn’t really mean. I don’t need to get my hopes up for another jerk with empty words. I’m sick of men who speak before they think or think it’s okay to tell me things that they don’t really mean or feel. I’d rather have a man who doesn’t say he loves me until he means it than a man who says the words just to make me “happy.”
  5. If he really likes me, he shouldn’t have to pretend to care. His actions should fall in line with his words naturally. I’ve never had to pretend to give AF about a man I’m dating. If I didn’t care, then I wouldn’t be with him. I don’t want to be a placeholder for a man that treats me like crap until something better comes along. If he actually likes me, then his actions should tell me exactly how much he cares.
  6. I shouldn’t have doubts about the man I’m with. Security begins and ends with how we treat each other. So if I am constantly wondering about whether or not his feelings for me are real, then it’s clear that his actions don’t reflect his words. I need to feel safe in his arms and know without a doubt that he loves me. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
  7. I won’t be taken for granted anymore. All the words in the world won’t make up for a man who doesn’t treat me right. A man can say he loves me, but if his actions suggest otherwise, then I won’t be sticking around. No words can make up for a man who makes me feel worthless. At the end of the day, if he loves me, then he should know I deserve better than that.
  8. I am so sick of mixed signals. Men say that they mean exactly what they say, but then they feed me meaningless words. If they actually meant what they said, I wouldn’t have to read between the lines. I would never be confused about how he feels or what we are to each other, but I often am, and I know I’m far from the only woman that is.
  9. I just want a man who can open up to me. If we’re together, then he should not only be able to tell me how he feels, but also be open with me through his every action. I want a man who lets me in and allows himself to be vulnerable. If he says he loves me, then he’ll know my heart is fragile, and he’ll do everything he can to protect it.
  10. If he really loves, he won’t be afraid to show me. A man who loves me would want me to know how much he cares. He would want me to feel loved without me having to ask. That’s all I really want out of a relationship, and I don’t think I’m out of line for holding out for a guy who has the courage to prove his feelings to me.
