What’s Pegging & Why Do Some Men Like It So Damn Much?

At this point, you’ve probably heard about pegging — where a woman wears a strap-on and gives a man anal sex. While a decade ago, it might have been considered dirty, shameful and completely taboo, these days it’s all the rage. If you’ve already tried it with your partner, this is probably old news. If you’re sort of freaked out about it, here’s what you need to know about why some guys dig it — and no, if your boyfriend has a pegging fantasy, it doesn’t mean he’s gay.

  1. Straight men want in on the fun of anal sex. “Anal sex is the new oral sex,” reports a Huffington Post article, and there have been many other genders eager to try it out, but with the man on top. In fact, most of the focus in anal sex tutorials is placed on the woman’s pleasure and comfort. Pegging allows straight men to finally experience what it’s like to have anal sex as a receiver.
  2. There’s such a thing as p-spot orgasms. Wait, what? Men have an erogenous zone called the “p-spot” that’s located inside the rectum. This area allows the prostate gland to be stimulated during anal sex, which gives them a whole lot of pleasure and even earth-shattering orgasms. Who knew?
  3. Pegging shifts the dominant role. OK, one would assume that getting to be in control and on top during sex is why women would like to try pegging with their guys, but being dominated can also be a turn on for men. They get to surrender and experience less control during sex, which you’ll know from experience can be highly sexy.
  4. It makes men better at back door love. Your guy might be really great at trying to make anal sex pleasurable for you, but let’s be honest: it’s a high-maintenance beast at times. You need lots of lube and he needs to take things really slowly, etc. When a guy gets to experience anal sex through pegging, he achieves a much better grasp of back door action because he knows what it feels like for you — how it can be painful at times and amazing at other times. By being interested in trying it out, he could make your sex lives and sexual communication so much more satisfying.
  5. It kicks boredom’s butt. Things can become boring in the bedroom, especially after years of being together, so pegging can be a really out-there idea to boost your sex life. Think about it: all the other sex acts are done to death on a regular basis, but pegging is something really different for both parties involved. If you haven’t tried it before, it’s sure to bring a whole lot of spice to the sack.
  6. Men can indulge in sexual pleasure that’s solely for them. OK, you might think that men get a whole lot of sexual pleasure all the time, but pegging is the one sexual act that takes their male pleasure to a whole new level. You won’t have any physical sensations during the act and the pleasure is really all about him. For him it’s probably like the sexual equivalent of getting to watch sport all weekend with you giving him beer instead of asking him to accompany you to the antique store.
  7. Pegging is still somewhat taboo, and that makes it hot! It’s so much more acceptable for women to say they want and enjoy anal sex than it is for men to admit that they’d like to be penetrated from behind. But the fact that it’s so scandalous can make it something really sexy for him to explore behind closed doors. FYI, some guys might worry if they admit to wanting their girlfriends to wear strap-ons, it means they’ll be seen as wanting an actual penis inside them. But this isn’t true, so don’t worry your guy will be fantasizing about Channing Tatum when you’re inside him. Any guy, straight or gay, can enjoy anal play without it having to mean something about his sexual orientation.
