A man from Dallas, Texas who’s prompted plenty of police callouts for his extreme Halloween decorations has back at it for 2022 with an even gorier display. Steven Novak loves October 31 and goes all out with his decorations, and he really seems to have outdone himself this year.

- Concerned neighbors and passersby called the cops several times last year. Officers came out to the house to see what was going on but of course, no charges were filed as obviously he hadn’t done anything wrong.
- These “decorations” really are something else. For 2021, Novak has wheelbarrows full of limbs, some bloody corpses, plenty of blood, and lots of implements of murder. It’s certainly not a scene for the faint of heart. One of the corpses is even impaled on a giant spike, while another has been processed through a woodchipper.
- Steven is an artist and engineer. “There are lots of new gimmicks to this year’s caper,” he told the Dallas Observer. “The wood chipper blood fountain being the clear centerpiece and easily the most challenging prop. It took me months to find an old wood chipper for sale. The sellers were not pleased with its new purpose.”
- There are lots of new details involved this year. “There are lots of new details; 55-gallon drums are now out by the curb filled up with the shredded party [of guests],” he explained. “And I made the body parts this year by cutting up mannequins then filling them with skeleton parts and Great Stuff insulation foam.”
- These displays cost a lot of time and money but for Steven, they’re worth it. In fact, he’s going to keep pushing it as far as he can every single year. “All the cops that came out last year were an absolute gas. I welcome them to come out and take more selfies,” he said. “This year has been rough for a lot of people. I think we can agree that this project is functioning as a pressure release valve. It’s been a tremendous amount of work and dough, but it’s worth it because people love it so much. People get as tickled looking at my massacre as they do looking at puppies. Next year’s gonna be nuts.”
