What we fear has a lot to do with who we are, how we were raised, and what we’ve been through. But did you know that another thing that may determine some of our fears is our zodiac sign? Yup, each sign has different traits (good and bad) that can point to specific fears, read ahead to learn about them.
1. Pisces fears never finding someone who understands them.
Pisces are the romantics of the zodiac, and they are ruled by their emotions, like all of the water signs. But what they fear most is never finding someone who is on their level and makes them feel understood. Because they are whimsical and creative, it takes a special person to help them feel wanted and loved.
2. Scorpio fears people seeing their vulnerabilities.
While many may see Scorpio as dark and mysterious and perhaps a little scary regarding emotions (blame the element of water that rules them), they have many vulnerabilities they don’t want people to see. It takes a lot for a Scorpio to open up to others because they worry about letting someone in and then being betrayed. This could be part of why this sign is seen as aloof and spooky—they have that protective mask to keep them safe.
3. Cancer fears losing their family.
The last of the water signs, Cancer, is extremely family-oriented. To them, family is more than just blood relatives—their closest friends are also their family. Losing someone they are close to, whether they pass on or move away, scares Cancer. They want to keep their family close and safe so they can never leave.
4. Aquarius fears being just like everyone else.
Aquarians love to be different and always feel like they stand out from the crowd. Because they love being the weirdos who do things differently than other folks, they fear being ordinary and like everyone else. Aquarians may do some odd things to keep from feeling average.
5. Libra fears any imbalance.
Libra is the scale, which is a sign of balance. It makes sense, then, that Libra people would have a distaste for imbalance. They prefer symmetry in their lives, and when things aren’t symmetric, they can experience stress and find it challenging to make decisions and stay on track.
6. Gemini fears being trapped in one way of life.
Gemini is the twins—the sign with the most duality. Gemini people are sometimes described as flighty and two-faced, but the true problem is that they have two different aspects of themselves living within, and they want to give both sides a fair shake. When they can only focus on one side of their personalities, Gemini can begin to feel trapped, which makes them fear they’ll be stuck forever.
7. Capricorn fears failure.
Capricorn is the workaholic of the zodiac. They love to stay busy, work long hours, and overschedule themselves, and some of them have an entrepreneurial spirit beyond anyone out there. Because they take so much pride in a job well done, they are terrified of failure.
8. Virgo fears imperfection.
Virgo is considered the perfectionist of the zodiac. They like things to be precise, and it irks them when something isn’t up to their standards. They fear imperfection mainly because it hinders their ability to achieve everything on their to-do list.
9. Taurus fears change.
Taurus is bull-headed, which is unsurprising given that the bull is their symbol. They like things to be a certain way, and when things don’t go as planned? Well, it really gets on their nerves. Taurus dislikes compromise, meaning change is not in their wheelhouse. So, if they’re suddenly forced to change, they may charge at you out of fear.
10. Sagittarius fears losing their sense of freedom.
Sagittarius is the adventurer of the zodiac with a love of freedom and travel. When Sagittarians become tied down and can’t travel and explore the world, they fall into sadness and depression. It can be such a fear, that some Sagittarians will avoid jobs and relationships simply out of the fear of being held back.
11. Leo fears not being noticed.
Leo loves standing out and being the center of attention. That said, there’s nothing a Leo fears more than not being noticed by the people around them. They require the undivided attention of their loved ones and they enjoy standing out at work and getting accolades from bosses and co-workers. Without that stream of love, they feel kind of empty.
12. Aries fears losing control.
Aries is the zodiac’s first sign, making them natural-born leaders. They love being in charge, so it makes sense that they fear losing control—of themselves, their position at work, and their relationships. It’s not that they’re all bossy, but they do like having a say.
