10 Amazing, Unexpected Things About Being Head Over Heels In Love

Whether or not you consider yourself a hopeless romantic, there’s nothing quite like the feeling of finding a guy that treats you like gold and falling head over heels in love with him. Just having someone by your side is amazing enough in itself, but that’s not even the best part of love.

  1. You become happier and more patient. When you’re head over heels in love, things that seemed to bug you before no longer seem to matter. Everything in your life is encased in a bliss bubble because you have that love that keeps you in a constant state of happiness. Sure, this is annoying to pretty much everyone that’s not you, but whatever!
  2. You’re full of optimism about the world around you. Being in love can make you look at the world in a whole new light. The bad things about the world don’t seem as harsh, and even when they do, you’re more likely to discuss ways to make them better instead of dwelling on how bad they are.
  3. You never feel alone. When you’ve got true love in your life, you’re never lonely. No matter what cards life throws at you, you’re certain that your partner has your back and that can be really comforting to know that, although you can be happy dealing alone, you don’t have to.
  4. Love makes you selfless. And in the best way possible. Loving someone takes away any selfishness you may have harbored from living only for you and allows you to give to another person out of the goodness of your full-of-love heart.
  5. It reveals parts of yourself you never knew existed. When you find the elusive one, you become more yourself than you ever thought you could be. It’s not that you were lost before you met him, but just by him loving you, you’re able to discover entirely new things about yourself, and it’s amazing.
  6. It opens your mind. Certain views and aspects of your belief system can be completely rattled because of love, and this is a good thing. It opens up your heart and your mind to things you never even considered to be important or thought-worthy.
  7. It boosts your confidence monumentally. Being so deeply in love is a major self-esteem boost. Sure, you may have thought highly of yourself before you met him, and for good reason, but once you fall head over heels, it only reinforces the idea that you’re beautiful, special, and worthy of love.
  8. It’s inspiring. There’s a reason famous artists, musicians and the like all have muses. Their muse was the very reason for some of their best personal creations, from music to art to novels and more. Whether or not you’re artistic, you’ll be motivated to get out there and live life to the fullest more than ever before.
  9. You feel like a part of something bigger than you. Love can expand your existence — maybe not literally, but when you feel really it, it’s as if you’re on a completely different planet than the one you were pre-love. You feel at one with the people, places and things around you and just having this emotion connects you to everyone else who, at that moment, feels it too.
  10. It makes everything better. Food tastes better, the sun shines brighter, and the birds chirping outside your window change from morning annoyance to natural melody all because you can see the person you love, and feel him loving you. It’s as if the emotion itself brings about a sense of euphoria that being without it just can’t match.
