It’s normal to be on cloud nine in the beginning stages of a new relationship, but how do you know if the guy you’re dating is totally smitten with you?
- He treats you like a lady. The first sign that he’s in it for the long haul is how well he treats you. Is he a perfect gentleman? Does he open doors for you? Does he do anything it takes to make you happy? If you answered yes to all three questions, then it sounds like you’ve found a keeper.
- He’s completely honest and open with you. Another sign that dude wants a future with you is that he’s completely transparent about everything and anything. In fact, perhaps he’s already even spelled it out to you that he’s planning on you being his next GF. He won’t be scared to reveal the intimate details about himself and he’ll also tell you anything that you want to know, even if it’s how many times he voted for Kelly Clarkson in the first season of American Idol.
- He wants you to meet his friends and family ASAP. If he’s counting on you becoming part of his family and friendship group one day, then this will be pretty obvious from the start. Why? Well, he’ll start introducing you to loved ones left, right, and center almost straight away. In fact, you’ll be so bombarded with new people that it’ll be practically impossible to remember all their names. True story.
- He wants to spend time with all your loved ones. Just as he wants you to spend time with his loved ones, he also wants to meet all your cronies—you know, like the time you told him that you were going to meet your friend Alissa after your date and he insisted on coming with you. A surefire sign that he sees you as a potential life partner is when he incorporates you into his life while simultaneously trying to fit into your life.
- He’s always asking you when he’s going to see you next. Additionally, you know you’re dealing with a guy who’s serious about you when he’s constantly asking you when he’s going to see you next. In fact, he probably asks you this when you’re only halfway through your entree of your current dinner date. He’s keen, he’s not afraid to show it, and you know what? It’s rather endearing.
- He’s already told you that he’s not seeing anyone else. If he hasn’t laid it all out there already about how he wants exclusivity then he’s probably already hinted that he’s not dating anybody else. If so, it’s obvious that he doesn’t want to lose you. I mean, can you blame him? You’re a catch.
- He makes plans months in advance. You know he has his sister’s wedding coming up in three months because he’s already asked you to be his plus-one. If he wasn’t serious about you, he would just “wait and see” with these types of events, but nah—he insists that you accompany him to each and every one and tells you in advance so that you can book them off work.
- He tries hard to impress you. If you mean a lot to him and he sees you as girlfriend material, then he’ll try really hard to impress you. Whether this is through a nice restaurant that he picks out for date night or with the story where he saved his neighbor’s cat from a tree, he wants you to think he’s just as awesome as he finds you.
- He makes everything so easy. Because he only wants to impress you, he makes such an effort to make you happy. As a result, he’s super kind and patient with you, which makes your relationship even more special than the ones before. I mean, gone are the days where the dating stages are complicated because you don’t know where you stand with your new beau—with this guy, everything is so much more straightforward and it’s plain sailing from day one.
- He talks about the future. Finally, another clear-cut sign that he can’t picture his future without you in it is if he knows what he wants out of life and he’s already communicated this to you. For instance, you’re only one month in and you know that he wants three kids and a pug named Bruce. He’s not afraid to open up about the serious stuff and isn’t running away from commitment screaming—and you know what? It’s actually quite refreshing.
