You’re amazing and a badass. You’re totally aware of these facts and you live each day as the powerful woman you are. Every now and again, you run into a guy who can’t handle all of the awesomeness that you have to offer. Here are 10 signs he just can’t hang:
- He’s clearly intimidated by you. You exude confidence and your unapologetic showing of self is evident to anyone. The right guy would adore this about you, but the type of guy who can’t handle you will be wildly intimidated. His intimidation will come out in the form of insulting your character and trying to make himself bigger than you. He’ll say he’s doing it because you’re pathetic, but it’s really because he’s acting small.
- Your personality is too big for him. You have the type of personality that fills the room. People usually love to be around you because you’re so exuberant. The right kind of man would be honored to be with you, but the one who can’t handle you will say your ego is too big or you’re a weirdo. He’ll find a way to try to make you feel less-than, but it won’t work because you have an unshakeable sense of self.
- You don’t care about societal expectations, but he thinks you should be a certain way. You’ve seen the lists about what women shouldn’t do like mix patterns, wear a lot of makeup, or whatever other BS standard people have created. You laugh at these suggestions. Instead, you wear whatever the hell you want and you don’t apologize for it. The guy that can’t handle you will be afraid to be seen with your eclectic fashion sense. Good riddance!
- He’s wildly thrown off when you demand respect. You’re a badass who speaks her mind. You aren’t afraid to tell a guy when you don’t like something or you want him to act another way towards you. A man-child is one who throws a hissy fit and calls you names when you draw boundaries to demand respect. You don’t have time for that sort of childishness, though — you’d rather wait for a man who respects you.
- You tell him “no” and he’s offended. You don’t have a problem saying the word “no.” If something doesn’t fly in your life, you stick up for yourself and for what you want. You don’t fear how other people react, so when this jerk has a meltdown, you have no problem walking away. After all, any man that can’t handle the word “no” without freaking out is totally not worth your time.
- You regularly shock him with what comes out of your mouth. You’re a badass and you aren’t afraid of what the world thinks of you. You speak your mind and you aren’t afraid to call someone out on their stuff. He can’t handle you if he isn’t able to hear the fact that he’s acting a certain way. You say what needs to be said regardless of whether he freaks or not.
- He tells you that you’re too emotional. Probably one of the worst signs of a loser who doesn’t deserve you is one who blames your emotional state on “being on the rag.” This is totally invalidating and inappropriate. Instead, you embrace your emotions because you know that they’re all a part of you. You aren’t afraid to cry whenever the hell you want. A guy that gets freaked out by that isn’t the guy for you.
- He gets squirmy and weird during period time. If you’re a cis woman, you’ll probably have your period and it’ll likely come with a variety of side effects. Being emotional is one of them, but some get physically sick or have awful cramps. You embrace your period because it’s just part of who you are. If a guy disappears for a few days or gets all weird around the time of your period, he just can’t hang and you give him the boot.
- He thinks feminism is a dirty word. All feminism means is that you believe in equality of the sexes, especially women who are marginalized and oppressed. As a badass woman, this is part of your nature, you fight for yourself and your other gals. He can’t handle you if he’s the type of guy to laugh at and make fun of feminism. If he can’t see the importance of equality, you say bye bye.
- It makes him uncomfortable that you like to take the lead. You live an unapologetic life, you show up as you are, and you totally love yourself. As a result, you aren’t the type who’s pulled around by men. Instead, you like to take the reins sometimes, maybe even very often. A guy who can’t handle your awesomeness will be offended by you attempting to lead the way. This is when you leave him in the dust.
