For many people, wine is one of the best aspects of life. If you’re the kind of woman whose day just isn’t complete without wine, you’ll be able to relate to these undeniable truths:

  1. A single bottle of wine doesn’t really require a glass. As a matter of fact, sometimes it just makes dishes dirty unnecessarily if you’re sure the entire bottle will be gone that night.
  2. You can pair a wine with literally any meal. If your grocery funds are limited, you can make a grilled cheese sandwich and still “pair” a wine with it because the wine is what makes the meal awesome.
  3. You can run out of bread and justify postponing a trip to the store, but running out of wine is unthinkable. Running low on wine is an absolute emergency; nearly anything else can wait another day.
  4. You add wine to every activity possible because it makes everything more fun. Think about it. Going to the movies is fun, but drinking wine and then going to the movies is better. It’s not a necessity, but why would you have a little bit of fun when you can have a lot of fun?
  5. When you consider having kids, you always consider the task of giving up wine for a year. You’re pretty sure it’ll be worth it, but that year sounds like hell.
  6. For almost every occasion, wine is a perfect gift. Unless the recipient of the gift is pregnant, extremely religious, or a recovering alcoholic, you usually opt for a bottle of wine. If the gift is for you, your friends already know what to get you.
  7. You don’t know how to date someone who doesn’t drink wine. It’s both an instrumental part of life and a great topic for conversation; a fondness for wine is essential in order to be truly compatible with someone. For that matter, people who don’t drink at all are basically undateable.
  8. You’ve considered changing your Facebook status to “in a relationship with wine.” Every time you have something to celebrate or something to lament, wine is there for you and loves you unconditionally. Sounds like the perfect relationship!
  9. You can’t be friends with someone who doesn’t bring wine to girls’ night. Seriously; girls’ night requires wine. It’s basically the entry fee at the door of your bachelorette pad.
  10. You carry a corkscrew in your purse just in case of a wine emergency. Always be prepared, right?
