10 Words To Include On Your Dating Profile To Get A Right Swipe

Whether you enjoy the process of online dating or not, the sad truth is that if you want to find love, using an app is the easiest way to widen the net. Sure, there are plenty of losers, toxic guys, and dudes who are only looking for an easy hookup, but there are also some legitimate romantics out there just like you who are looking for a real relationship. If you want a bigger chance of one swiping right on you, you can help yourself by adding certain words to your profile.

Dating app Badoo analyzed the profiles of its users to determine which words or phrases were most common among their most popular people. In the end, they compiled a list of the top 10 for everyone, and the results were in part predictable but also somewhat bizarre.

Men that talked about their beards, the gym, or their cars tend to fare better, while women that mention beer, blue eyes, and love got the most right swipes by guys. Men also seem to love when women use smiley emoticons, oddly enough, while women are into dudes who mention 6″—of what, you can use your imagination.

While obviously using these phrases should be natural (and true) and they’re likely not foolproof—maybe some women hate guys who go to the gym and a lot of guys prefer women with brown eyes rather than blue—it’s interesting to know what seems to work the best online. It’s also worth considering that these buzzwords could change depending on the dating app involved. Since this is only Badoo’s list, there might be a whole other way to approach your profile on, say, Tinder or Bumble.

At the end of the day, take the above with a grain of salt. If your profile is a genuine reflection of who you are, you should keep the faith that the right one will find you eventually.
