Mornings are hard, even when you don’t have a tough day to tackle! It’s easy to get anxious or overwhelmed thinking about the thousands of things you have to get done, or get down on yourself if you tend to dwell on the last few rough days you had. For most of us, crawling back into bed and avoiding life with a Netflix marathon is off the table, so try some of these 11 positive morning affirmations to help you find your ability to kick today’s ass.
- Today’s a new day. Whatever is in the past is done and over with. Don’t let any past mistakes or failures weigh you down, because today is a chance to start fresh!
- I’m strong and capable of anything. You’re a strong woman who’s capable of handling anything your day could throw at you. You’ve tackled days much tougher than today; you can absolutely rock this one.
- I’m lucky to have people who love me. Friends, family, coworkers, classmates, neighbors, and/or pets are wonderful sources of love in our lives. You are loved and your existence brightens people’s lives.
- I’m open to whatever new experiences life throws at me. The unknown can be scary. New challenges, even welcomed ones, are potentially terrifying. You can tackle these fears by trying to be as open to new experiences as possible. Face the unknown head on.
- Progress is more important than perfection. Your goal for today, and every day, shouldn’t be perfection. Aim for being a decent person, feeling good about yourself, and working towards your goals. Never forget that taking time for fun and self-care is important to reaching your life goals, as well.
- I’m the one in control of how I see myself. Don’t let anyone define how you see yourself. Critics and negativity are everywhere, but you’re ultimately in charge of your self-image. It takes effort, but you can take control of your self-esteem and chose to ignore what anyone else has to say.
- I matter. The universe wanted you to exist and therefore, you matter. You’re a unique individual and no one can take your place. Remember, if one person doesn’t matter, nobody matters.
- I can do something meaningful with my time. Today doesn’t have to be all work, chores, and errands. You can engage in something meaningful if you chose to. Your day doesn’t necessarily have to be empty.
- I choose to focus on my blessings. It’s super easy to get bogged down in everything that’s wrong or annoying in your day. Most people have to make a conscious effort to stay positive, and reminding yourself of everything you should be thankful for is an easy way to remain optimistic. It may not seem like a lot, but that’s why you have to try to focus on the positives.
- I’m brave enough to ask for help if I need it. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of bravery. You’re courageous enough to ask for assistance when you need it, because you don’t have to handle everything entirely on your own.
- There’s always coffee and music. When all else fails, grab some coffee, pull up your favorite song, and tackle life. You’ve got this.
