11 Signs You’re The Glue That Holds Your Friends Together

Being the MVP of your friend group is a tough job, but someone’s got to do it. You tend to do a lot for your friends without expecting much in return, and without you, the group would very likely fall apart — or be super bored, at the very least. It’s not a role you purposely sought out, it just sort of happened that way, and you don’t even mind. Here are 11 signs that you’re the glue holding your best buds together.

  1. Your purse is practically a traveling pharmacy. When you’re out and someone isn’t feeling very well or forgot to bring feminine protection, they know to turn to you for help. You always come prepared with medicine and tampons and save the day.
  2. You’re the first person to text when a friend is going through something. Not everyone is good at comforting others, but you’re a great caretaker. When your friends are in crisis, they want to talk to you to calm them down and possibly give them some advice – those things are your specialties, after all.
  3. You’ve been the designated driver multiple times. Many people tend to be bad in this department and try to wiggle out of being the sober driver at the end of the night. Although you can easily point out the people who haven’t done it, you don’t. You drive because you want everyone to be safe, and that makes you amazing.
  4. Most nights out with your girls involve you babysitting them. Usually being the driver also makes you the babysitter because you’re the mom of the group. You often help out your friends when they’re sick and make sure they’re okay. You know exactly what kind of drunks they are and how to reign them in because you’ve done it many times.
  5. Your place is usually the spot everyone wants to be. When they’re not partying and want to stay in, it’s a given where your girls will go. Your place is a safe haven for your friends, whether it’s because you’re always stocked up on good wine or food, or because you’re always willing to take people in when someone needs you.
  6. Wing Woman” should really be your nickname. All of your single friends love you because you’re the queen at making introductions when they’re shy. Without you, they’d be at a total loss on how meet and talk to new guys.
  7. You’re the one who has the connections. You always know what’s going on over the weekend because you have an extensive network. You’re also pretty useful when it comes to finding out about new job openings and other opportunities.
  8. You’re generally in charge of making plans.  Nothing would get done without you. Birthdays, anniversaries, and pretty much everything else is left to you to plan because you’re good at it. It can be tiring, but most of your friends show you how grateful they are, so you totally don’t mind.
  9. You’re always the first to defend them. No one is going to walk over your friends without you saying something. While the others might be too scared to speak up from time to time, they know you will and they tend to have your back.
  10. Everyone trusts you to be truthful. Not all friends are comfortable with doing this. Some are just straight up two-faced, but others are just scared of hurting their friend’s feelings. You know how to tell the truth without doing damage, and your friends trust you more for it.
  11. You’re the mediator of your friends. Everyone doesn’t always see eye to eye and it seriously throws things off when this happens. When the drama gets bad, you tend to be the mediator and make everyone realize that they shouldn’t be fighting. Without you, the group would have broken up long ago.
