Don’t deny it — you’ve fallen for at least one toxic guy at some point. He reeled you in and while you may have had an inkling that it was a very bad idea, you still went there because you just couldn’t resist. It’s OK, it happens to the best of us — but why did you feel so powerless to resist him, anyway?
- He’s hot. OK, first things first, toxic guys are always hot. That’s what grabbed your attention in the first place. He has swag, big muscles, some bad-ass tattoos and a pierced ear with a diamond that for you odd reason, you’re attracted to. Ugh.
- He’s aware of his hotness. There’s just a certain look on his face and that cocky way he talks that lets you know he’s aware of how good-looking he is… and you eat that crap up.
- He has hot friends. Why not get other friends aboard the toxic guy train and introduce them to his friends? Your friends are always thankful for this, especially when they aren’t looking for something serious.
- He’s a loser. So, it’s safe to say that you should know not to allow losers to take up your time, but you do it anyway. He’s mean to you, but you find it intriguing because no girl likes when a guy is overly obsessed with her, anyway.
- He doesn’t show much interest in you. If you’re anything like me, than you’re a sucker for this one. You love a good chase! You don’t want it to be easy because that’s way too boring and stable for you (and immature, but hey ho).
- He doesn’t text you back. You sit there for hours wondering why the hell he hasn’t answered your text when your read receipts are on and you can clearly see he’s read it. This drives you mad, but you love it when he finally answers.
- He always says he’s too busy for everything. When a guy is always down to do something at any time of the day, it takes the curiosity away. You like challenging yourself and figuring out what he could possibly be doing besides hanging out with you.
- He makes you feel good about yourself. Conversations with him are always fun because he likes to talks about how cute, sexy or funny you are. It makes you more attracted to him because you know he wants you, even if he’s only saying it because he wants to get laid.
- He asks for nude pics. Every toxic guy in existence will ask for naked pictures. You, being better than that (I hope), will just accept that it’s one of his toxic guy traits and can look past it.
- He talks about things you couldn’t care less about. Rambling on about his car, his bench presses or his bets on sports will get really old, really fast… but isn’t the way he talks about those things hot?
- He’s not motivated. Doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants with no real goals or motives is really appealing. You could never live like that yourself, but it’s fun to see him do it.
- He’s actually fun to be around. There’s no denying that a toxic guy is fun to be around, because he’s all about having a good time. He probably isn’t too serious about anything, so you know you can unwind whenever you’re in his presence.
- He’s always on your mind. Despite what roadblocks you face when trying to get to know this guy, he’ll always have you coming back for more. He consumes most of your thoughts and while you stare up at your bedroom ceiling at night, all you can think is, “Sigh! Not another toxic guy.”
