Guys think they know exactly what women want but really they have no idea. Most of us aren’t after roses and expensive chocolates—it actually means so much more when our dudes do these things:
- They compliment our hair/outfit/nails. This is no lie—one time I died my hair a super dark red from dirty blonde and my boyfriend didn’t even notice! I was like, “I sat in that hairdressing chair for 4 hours for nothing!” Guys don’t notice these things but it matters more than they will ever know when they do because it shows us just how much they’re paying attention to us.
- They call our moms/dads/siblings on their birthdays. When we find out that they’ve actually picked up the phone and called our loved ones on their birthdays or for any other occasion, it shows not only maturity but that they’re in this for the long run.
- They pick up pads/tampons for us when we’ve run out. We all know how embarrassing it can be for a guy to buy tampons, but if he’s willing to swallow his pride and do it, we know he’ll do pretty much anything for us after that. This also shows maturity, because only immature boys would be embarrassed about a normal bodily function.
- They post pics of the two of us on social media even though they barely use their account. Guys aren’t super into social media the ways we women are, but when they take the time to post a pic of the two of us on his social media account, we can’t help but get a twinge of excitement inside. They’re obviously proud to be with us and want to show the world just how much we mean to them. Ugh. It’s too cute to handle.
- They kiss us in front of their friends. They’re not even afraid of getting any flack from their friends for being “whipped” or “controlled” by their girlfriends. They just love us too much to not kiss us goodbye and that’s so damn sweet.
- They go down on us first. When they makes us come first, it’s like the ultimate gentlemanly gesture. They want to make sure we get off properly before they get their chance and it makes us realize what great guys they are.
- They buy us a gift we actually would want. They don’t give us some generic gift that they think girls like, like some kinda artificially flavored tea and mittens with sparkles on them. No, they get us something we sincerely want and can use in a practical way. This shows how much they actually pay attention to what we like.
- They actually wear the kind of dorky clothes we buy them. We buy the most random garments to up their style and even though they probably think they look a bit silly, they wear them anyway because they trust us and wants to make us happy.
- They remember the specific brand of perfume we like. Even when the bottle has run out, they can still remember the name of our favorite perfume which means so much to us. They actually notice the little things!
- They randomly tell us we’re beautiful. We could be brushing our teeth or digging up a garden bed but they still manage to see our beauty and that means so much to us.
- They send us a text telling us they saw something that reminded them of us. These kinda out of the blue texts let us know that they’re always thinking of us and it’s really sweet that they’re even bothered to tell us when we popped into his mind.
- They undress us before sex. This one is a little random, but getting undressed before sex just makes us fell so…wanted, doesn’t it? Sometimes we just want to be taken care of and don’t feel like putting in the work in taking off our clothes. Plus, it’s hot for both people involved and lets us know just how badly they want us.
- They take the liberty to introduce us to people. My ex used to literally forget I was there when he would run into someone he knows. When our guys introduce us to the people they know, they’re making sure we’re comfortable and don’t feel excluded, which is so nice.
- They take our side even though we’re clearly wrong. We could be convincing everyone at the table that the earth is flat and they’ll still take your side, or at least attempt to understand our point of view. They’ll always have our back, even if they end up looking kinda silly in the process.
- They act chivalrous out of the blue. Chivalry is supposedly dead nowadays, so when they offer little gestures like holding the door for us, letting us go first into the car, or pulling out our chair, it just gives us another reason to fall in love with them. All of these little gestures show they care about us, especially when they’re just doing it at random and not because they’re trying to impress us.
