15 Romantic Things To Do For Your Boyfriend That He’ll Really Love, According To A Guy

We all need a healthy dose of romance in our relationships, but don’t you think it’s unfair that it’s up to men to always provide it? Ladies, if you want romance, sometimes you’re the one that has to create it. Guys also appreciate romantic gestures, they just sometimes have a different idea of what those gestures are. For the ladies out there, here are some romantic things you can do for your boyfriend that he’ll actually love.

  1. Make some serious eye contact. For guys, there are few things as sexy as a woman making consistent eye contact. If you want to create a romantic spark, put down your phone and any other distractions and keep your attention on your guy. If you do this in the right way, you’ll create an incredible mood that will likely lead you both to the bedroom.
  2. Write him love notes. If you’d like to receive a love note from your partner, odds are he’d like it too. If a guy brings his own lunch bag to work or you won’t be there when he wakes up, leave a note to let him know you care. It’ll create some romance and might actually encourage him to do the same.
  3. Take part in some of his interests. For the record, I hate it when a woman tries to fake like she’s interested in something just for a guy. That being said, you can be open-minded to his weird hobbies and try to enjoy them as well. Guys find it romantic when their lady takes a liking to something they’re invested in. Plus, it’s a good way to spend quality time together.
  4. Show him a little appreciation. What could be more romantic than letting your partner know that you appreciate him? Guys need occasional reminders that you’re grateful for who they are and the things they bring to your life. That’s especially true if they go out of their way to help you or do something nice. Just being shown some appreciation can be considered a romantic gesture.
  5. Surprise him. This one should be obvious, but there are few things more romantic than surprising your partner. Of course, it needs to be a well-planned surprise that he’ll like, but it will add a little excitement to his life and show him just how thoughtful you are.
  6. Cook a romantic meal. Yes, the old cliche is true: the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. If you can’t cook particularly well, surprising him with takeout from his favorite place can work too. However, it’s far more romantic to light some candles and cook his favorite dish. This can be a great way to show you care for him and create a romantic mood.
  7. Try a little physical contact. No, it doesn’t have to be that kind of physical contact. Any kind of physical contact that isn’t inherently sexual can still be considered romantic. This could mean giving your guy a back rub or a tight hug from behind or even just squeezing his hand. As long as you do it with feeling, he’ll pick up the romantic undertones.
  8. Plan a date. Ladies, you can’t always rely on your boyfriend to plan out fun and spontaneous dates. Think of something new and exciting you’d like to do and bring him along for the ride. Simply putting in the effort to plan out a date can be a sign that you care.
  9. Be the big spoon. Everything women like about being the little spoon, most men like too. We probably won’t admit it or come out and ask you to hold them. However, I can’t think of too many things that are more romantic than a quiet night of cuddling. If you volunteer to take the cuddling reins for a bit, I guarantee a guy will like it and feel the romance.
  10. Sit through a sporting event. Even if you don’t like sports, suck it up for a few hours and try to enjoy a game while sitting next to your guy. If you can show that you’re just a fraction as excited as he is, your guy will take note of the effort you’re making to connect with him.
  11. Give him chocolate. Ladies, you seriously don’t think you’re the only ones who enjoy chocolate and other sweets, do you? While I wouldn’t give your guy flowers, chocolates are a nice romantic gesture. If he’s not into sweet things, hit him with some wings or whatever food he likes but doesn’t eat much.
  12. Make a scrapbook of your relationship. Most guys aren’t going to like putting together a scrapbook, but most will appreciate seeing the final product. Putting together a visual collection of the highlights of your relationship is the ultimate romantic gesture and a great reminder of why you two are together in the first place.
  13. Dress up for him. I’ll admit this isn’t exactly a progressive way of thinking as far as traditional gender roles are concerned but men love knowing that their partner does things for them that they don’t do for other people. Sometimes that means trying to look your best for a hot date or even a night in. You don’t even have to pull out all of the stops. Just wear an outfit you know he’ll like and it will help set a romantic mood.
  14. Sit through his favorite movie. There’s a good chance that you and your partner don’t like the same movies. If a guy has ever sat through a rom-com or a chick-flick for you, repay the favor by watching his favorite movie with him. The movie itself doesn’t matter because simply wanting to sit with him during the movie is enough of a romantic gesture.
  15. Perform his favorite sexual act. Sorry, ladies, but men do associate sex with romance. If all else fails, this is one way to enjoy a romantic night together. Just make sure you do something different to make it special. Also, make sure it’s an all-night affair rather than a quickie. Otherwise, it’s just sex without the romance. Oh, and finally, make sure it’s something you’re actually comfortable with and aren’t feeling forced into. There’s nothing romantic about that.
