15 Things Grown Women No Longer Feel The Need To Do

You don’t know when it happened, but one day you woke up and suddenly realize you’re a grown ass woman. Life changed overnight and you honestly don’t mind. You’ve left behind your high school and college days and you’re more focused on finding success and getting enough sleep these days than you are on being the life of the party.

Some of your less mature friends might call you old, but you know better. You’ve worked hard to reach this status. You’re an adult and you’re finally owning it. As this incredible new adult, there are just some things you don’t do anymore. They’re just annoying, loud and boring.

  1. Check out every new club. Standing in line for hours in high heels at every new club opening used to be fun. Now you just want to put on your favorite playlist and put your feet up when you get home from work.
  2. Spend every second on the go. The goal of most women in their early 20s is to be as busy as possible. You’ve gotten past that. You don’t have to have plan for every second of the day. It’s far more enjoyable to curl up on the couch for a marathon Netflix weekend.
  3. Raid the fridge in the middle of the night. Eating all those greasy leftovers at 3 AM used to a normal part of life. Now the thought of cold pizza in the middle of the night just turns your stomach.
  4. Stay up for days. It’s amazing how you could stay up for three or four days as you partied the night away, went to work the next morning, hung out with friends that evening and got stuck on repeat. As a grown woman, you’d rather get some sleep. You’re tired of covering up dark circles and feeling like crap after being up for days. You’d rather get some beauty sleep and have fun later.
  5. Fall for “bad boys”. Bad boys are a classic sign you’re still acting like a child. The moment you’ve had enough of being treated badly and find bad boys a turn off, you’ve entered adulthood. You know there’s better men out there now.
  6. Eat frozen mystery meals. If you open your freezer and see nothing but frozen boxed meals, you may not have grown up yet. Honestly, what are those meat-shaped patties actually made of? Now you have real food like vegetables and steak in your freezer. You may even be shopping for fresh produce at the local farmers’ market.
  7. Run to every party, no matter whose it is. Years ago, it was a rush to crash every party you found. You had no clue whose house you were in or who the people around you were, but it meant free booze and possibly a great hookup. You’re a little more picky now and would rather just get together with a few close friends.
  8. Spend your entire paycheck on cheap booze. Unless you’re cooking with wine, there’s no real reason to have your pantry filled with boxed wine or beer that no one even knows exists. Sure, it’s affordable on a small part time paycheck, but you’re grown now. You have more money and can actually buy the good stuff.
  9. Live on social media. You’ve grown past having to be on social media every second of every day. Who gives a damn if that friend you had 10 years ago just had a baby? You really don’t care if your ex is getting married. You have a life, and it’s not on an app somewhere.
  10. Call in with a hangover. How many nights did you spend partying only to have to call in with a hangover the next morning. You value your job now. You’re not about to lose it because you can’t call it quits after a few drinks. Hangovers are for the youngsters. You’re a woman now.
  11. Rely upon everyone else to be happy. When you’re younger, your happiness hinges on finding a boyfriend, being around your friends all the time and working hard to impress everyone. You know now that your happiness is up to you. You’re not concerned with impressing others. As long as you’re proud of yourself, you’re happy and that’s all that matters.
  12. Hanging out with friends who’ll never grow up. Your friends used to be funny, but now they’re just immature idiots. They don’t respect your new-found adulthood. Why let these people drag you down? It takes a grown woman to let go of the friends who’ll never grow up.
  13. Letting it all hang out. Relying upon your cleavage and ass cheeks to get you somewhere are a thing of the past. You know that dressing sexy means leaving a little to the imagination. You also know the workplace isn’t the right time to have your boobs jumping out of your shirt.
  14. Wing it on finances. Living paycheck to paycheck was great for a while. But now, you have to focus on a budget to pay for a place to live, real food to eat and all the other random bills that come with being an adult. You don’t just hope you have enough. You plan ahead.
  15. Sleep with whomever, whenever. At one time, you felt like you were invincible. You took risks with your health by sleeping with whomever you wanted without making them wear condoms. Now, you take time to ask a few questions first and ensure any new guys protect you and themselves.
