Do you ever notice that even when you’re single and genuinely happy that way, people still assume you must be looking for a man? Fortunately for everyone, there’s actually a lot more to life than finding and maintaining a relationship. In case anyone needs a reminder, here are a few things single people are worrying about that have nothing to do with finding a boyfriend:

  1. How to pay off that student debt. Or how to pay off your loans before you turn 40 and still manage to have enough money left over to have a life.
  2. Whether or not to get bangs. You’ll probably go into the salon fully intending to get bangs only to chicken out at the last minute and leave with the same haircut as always. One of these times you’ll do it though, you’re sure of it.
  3. Hitting up the Kate Space clearance sale. In fact, not even the most perfect Tom Hardy look-a-like in the world has a hope of getting in between you and a new purse for 50% off.
  4. Making yourself a morning person. Considering most of the world functions on a 9 to 5 schedule, it might be time to finally kick those student night hawk tendencies. It would be nice to actually accomplish something other than drinking three cups of coffee before noon
  5. Getting tickets to see Adele live. Who are you kidding? It’s not going to happen.
  6. Planning your next trip. That’s right, single people go on trips solo all the time. A boyfriend is not a prerequisite to going on cool trips. In fact it’s sometimes a straight up nuisance.
  7. Finding a job you don’t hate. It’s not even about finding your dream job immediately. All you want is a job you can tolerate that pays a reasonable salary so you can pay your rent and get some experience. Seems to be a lot to ask these days.
  8. Getting your eyebrows under control. Seriously, they change your entire face. You need to deal with the mess you made of them after you over plucked when you were 14.
  9. Finding the best burrito in town. You never really liked Chipotle that much anyway. Now is the perfect time to find a burrito that will blow all other burritos out of the water.
  10. Getting into the new lounge downtown on Friday night. You’re pretty sure your co-worker’s friend’s cousin knows one of the bouncers. Time to round up your friends and have a girl’s night out.
  11. What to get your Dad for his birthday. There’s literally not a single thing he needs. How do you buy a gift for a 50 year old whose biggest hobbies are taking things apart and putting them back together, and golfing? Engraved golf balls it is!
  12. Perfecting your lasagna recipe. Cottage cheese or no cottage cheese? Mozzarella or Havarti? The correct cheese selection is essential, but you’ll never know which one works the best until you try them all.
  13. Winged eyeliner. No matter how many tutorial videos you watch on Youtube and how careful you are, you can’t seem to get the technique down. Oh well, practice makes perfect, right?
  14. What to eat for lunch. You’ve been meaning to try that mason jar salad trick, but you’re not sure you can stomach yet another kale Caesar. Time to start Googling unconventional salad ingredients.
  15. Whether you’ll ever be one of those girls who can wear heels to work. How do they wear heels all day without wanting to cry? Maybe if you practice by walking around your apartment in your favorite pair for an hour every night.
