Women might all be created equal, but we are all far from the same. We all have our own unique interests, activities, and qualities that make us special, but ultimately we are all looking for the same things out of life. Here are 16 things that all women are searching for:
- A good sale. No matter how much money we make, a good deal will always be hard to resist. Whether it’s on that designer coat we have been coveting all season or toilet paper from Costco, if there’s a sale happening, count us in.
- A pair of jeans that make your ass look perfect. They say a good man is hard to find, but a good pair of jeans is equally as hard and equally as important to track down. Once we find a pair we love, we’ll buy at least 5 pairs, or live to regret it forever.
- A great hairdresser. Finding someone who can make you look and feel your best every six to eight weeks is crucial, and the older you get, the more important this becomes. As you age, your hair grays and changes texture, and finding someone who can properly manage these changes is key. It also helps to have someone you enjoy talking to since you will be spending more and more time in their chair.
- Recognition. Whether it’s for kicking ass at our job, making a drool-worthy meal, or getting a great deal on the family vacation, we do it all, and a little recognition every now and then for all of our hard work goes a long way.
- The key to losing 10 lbs overnight. Even though we know this is not realistic – and if it’s realistic, it’s definitely not safe – we’ll never stop looking for that miracle that makes us look amazing in our bikini when we’ve been slacking on the gym and the diet.
- The perfect LBD. The little black dress has long been a staple of every woman’s closet. They’re versatile, can be worn a million times in a million different ways (think accessories), and are perfect for (almost) any event. And of course it helps if we manage to snag one on sale!
- Love. And not necessarily romantically. Even those of us who have given up on “that kind” of love after being burnt too many times, are still looking to be loved by our amazing friends, family, and the best kind of love of all: puppy love.
- A purse big enough to fit everything. It’s a real challenge to find a bag big enough to fit everything we need to get through a day without looking like we’re about to catch a flight for a week long vacation. When we do, they’re usually substance over style, so finding one that has both is EVERYTHING.
- An equal living wage. HOPEFULLY this is something we won’t have to look for for too much longer, but currently we’re only making 78 cents on the dollar, and that’s total BS. Women’s suffrage might have been about a hundred years ago, but we’re still trying to find some equality.
- An understanding boss. Having an amazing boss really is winning the work lottery. Sure, a bigger paycheck would be nice too, but having a boss who understands that you have a life outside of work and that once a month you’ll have miserable cramps and need to go home early is just as great.
- The perfect recipe. We spend hours upon hours on Pinterest looking for a recipe that isn’t too complicated, is remotely healthy, and is a fan favorite. Something that’s equally as great for a last minute meal as it is when we’re having company. The search never ends because eventually you’ll get bored with your go-to meal and need a new one.
- High heels that are gorgeous and comfortable. OK, let’s be honest, these don’t exist… but that won’t stop our never ending search for them, or at least gimmicks to try and make the ones we do buy more bearable (like rubbing deodorant on the bottom of your feet to stop blisters).
- Success. For some, that might mean making it to the top of a high powered company and for others it might mean raising successful children. Whatever it is that we spend our life doing, we want to know that we’re doing it right.
- The perfect bra. One that’s actually comfortable and gives us the right amount of lift and makes our boobs look big, but not too big. It gives us just the right amount of cleavage without being too much cleavage and can be worn with essentially anything in our closet. You can find these next to the imaginary comfortable and stylish high heels rack.
- A few great friends. Probably the hardest thing of all to find, so when we find one we like, we’re keeping them around forever. There are friends that are great fun, ones that are great confidants, and then there are the friends that are both.
- Happiness. The definition of this is different for everyone and we’re all on different paths, but at the end of the day, all we’re really looking for are the people and things that make our lives worth living.
