Karma is only a bitch if you’re being bad, you know. For those of us who were wronged, or have been witness to a wrongdoing in the past, karma is the best purveyor of schadenfreude out there. If you’ve ever witnessed any of these 20 magical moments, you already know how awesome karma can be.
- Seeing bullies get a taste of their own medicine. It’s not necessarily right to want to see bullies get hurt, but at the same time, those of us who were bullied can’t help but smirk and ask, “Not so tough now, are we?”
- Watching a total creep get publicly outed. Guys who don’t take no for an answer, as well as guys who think that rude texts are OK to send, sometimes need to be shamed and outed in order for them to learn. There’s no problem with enjoying watching the sparks fly, right? Grab that popcorn!
- Seeing a cheater get cheated on. This might just be the ultimate dating karma example out there.
- That moment when you see a user end up penniless and alone. When someone uses you for money/sex/whatever, it’s a huge betrayal of trust. The good news is that the probably don’t do this to you and only you. Seeing their greedy habits catch up to them makes for awesome schadenfreude.
- Watching someone who lied about you get proven wrong. Hearing all those people apologize to you feels amazing, no lie.
- Getting to watch a loser have a fall from grace. Everyone knows that one loser that seems to be in a constant position of power, and how no one seems to notice that said person is an awful human being. When you finally see them outed as the dirtbag they are, there’s a certain amount of vindication you feel, and it’s so good.
- Seeing someone get a much-needed reality check. Know that entitled, spoiled princess in class? Seeing her freak out over something minor, then be told off for expecting to be mollycoddled when she’s a grown ass woman, is always satisfying. After all, it’s good to know reality always will hit you in the face… even if you’re a trust fund kiddie.
- Watching an loser boss or co-worker get fired. If ever there is a karmic moment in the office, it’s watching this happen.
- Getting to show that a know-it-all doesn’t really know much of anything. We all have that one person in their lives who insists that they know everything, even when they don’t. Nothing is more awesome than seeing them get shut down by someone who undeniably knows more than them, am I right?
- That magical moment when you see the guy who ghosted on you coming back, asking for a second chance. It does happen, and when it does, it feels incredible. The only thing that feels better is being able to reject him.
- Realizing that you’re doing better than your exes. Is there any better revenge than true success? I don’t think there is. No one can even hate you for doing anything bad with this method of revenge. And when karma also gives your exes a kick in the caboose, it just adds to the sweetness of the situation.
- That precious moment when something bad someone did to you ends up biting them in the butt harder than they thought. Nothing quite is better than seeing karma act out without having to actually do anything to make the situation lean in your favor.
- The rare moment when you find out that you weren’t actually wronged. Did you ever have a moment when you’re sitting there, waiting for karma to kick someone’s butt, only to find out that you had the situation all wrong? When it happens, it’s actually pretty satisfying, if not a bit embarrassing.
- Having instant karma happen in the form of someone stepping in on your behalf. Nothing is a better reminder that humanity is not always bad than seeing someone stand up for you when you can’t. Make a point to thank and keep those who do this for you close by.
- Getting recognition for something you do. Sometimes, the best karma happens when you do something altruistic. For example, getting props for helping someone that you really didn’t have any obligation to gives you a great feeling that just can’t be beat.
- Watching the person who messed with you mess with the wrong people. Even if you exacted your own form of revenge, actually seeing them face the consequences from yet another pissed off person still gives you a pretty good dose of schadenfreude at times.
- Getting dumped, only to experience a massive upgrade. Can I get an amen on this one?
- Seeing the ex who dumped you for another girl get dumped for another guy. This isn’t always cheating, but it still hurts all the same. Even if you’re pretty much over it all, it still makes you want to smirk knowing that it happened to him, too.
- That perfect moment when people who took you for granted now beg you for a second chance. Repeat after me: “You’re on your own, now, bucko!”
