2022 New Year’s Resolutions For Single Women Everywhere

I know, I know, setting New Year’s resolutions is a little played out, and single women you don’t necessarily need to set specific goals anyway, but hear me out. While many people set goals like losing weight, eating better, and achieving their dreams when the calendar turns over to a new year, those of us who are rolling solo might want to shift our focus just a bit. Here are a few ideas for things you should try to achieve in 2022.

  1. Find pleasure in your own company. If you haven’t worked on this already, there’s no better time. It’s natural to be lonely sometimes and it’s part of the human condition to seek companionship. That’s not a problem. What is a problem is if you feel completely lost and bereft when you’re on your own and you pine so bad to be in a relationship because you’re uncomfortable in your own skin. One of the best New Year’s resolutions for single women is definitely working on finding peace and pleasure in your own company.
  2. Build the life you’ve always wanted to live. You don’t need to wait for a partner to come along to build the life you’ve always dreamed of living. Whether you want to move to Paris, go back to school, start your own business, travel the world, whatever – all of it is possible if you put in the hard work to make it happen. Your single status doesn’t matter – you need to create a life you love so that when you do meet someone, they add to your already complete existence.
  3. Stay open to love despite disappointments. You don’t have to actively be looking for love to stay open to it. As single women, another of the most meaningful New Year’s resolutions should be to keep your eyes and heart open in case someone great comes along. You don’t want to miss out on what could be an incredible connection because you’re too skeptical or jaded to enjoy it.
  4. Commit to continuing to “put yourself out there.” On a similar note, putting yourself out there when you’re single and wish you weren’t can be totally demoralizing, especially when it never seems to pay off. You don’t need to hang out at the bar every night or join every dating app going, but leave the house sometimes and actually go places where new, interesting people hang out. Even if you don’t meet a romantic partner, you could end up meeting some great new friends!
  5. Foster and cherish your platonic connections. Of all the New Year’s resolutions for single women, this is likely the most important one there is. Your family and your friends love you very much and want to be there for you. You should offer them the same in return. These are the people who will always be by your side no matter what your relationship status is, so give them the attention and affection they deserve.
