26-Year-Old Teacher Has Embraced Her Grey Hair And Stopped Dyeing It Altogether

A 26-year-old school teacher whose hair has been grey for years has decided to stop dyeing it and is instead embracing her natural look – and frankly, she looks incredible! Lauren Midgley from Alberta, Canada got her first gray hair when she was only 12 and it wasn’t long after that more and more sprouted. While many young people might have freaked out about the change, Lauren is totally cool with it!

  1. Lauren never thought she’d be fully gray at such a young age. Lauren shared that her mom found the first gray head on her hair when she was only 12, which Lauren didn’t even realize was possible. “She always warned me that I might go grey earlier than most, but I never imagined I’d be so young,” she shared with her Instagram followers.
  2. It got harder to cover the grays as she got older. While Lauren used to cover up the gray hair, which was mostly located at the top of her scalp with dye, the more grays she got, the harder it became to do so. That’s when she decided enough was enough.
  3. Lauren’s hairdresser convinced her to let herself go gray. “My lovely hairdresser convinced me to embrace it and I stopped covering my grey hair at 24. I’ve now been growing it out for 2 years, and get low lights a few times a year to help it blend more since I’m not completely gray,” she said. She looks incredible!
  4. People can’t believe that Lauren is only 26. “No one ever believes that I am this grey at 26! I am a teacher and my little students are often baffled – ‘you don’t even have kids yet and your hair is so gray!'” she said. However, she insists that she’s accepting herself more and more every day and has no plans to go back trying to cover up her grays.
