8 Important Things To Remember When Life Gets Tough

It’s easy to wake up every day and see all the negativity in the world, but sometimes you need to stop and look at the positive and remember that while life gets tough sometimes, it’s really not all bad. When it feels like everything’s getting on top of you, remember these 8 things:

  1. You won’t end up alone, but even if you did, you’d be OK. This is one of the hardest ideas for women to grasp. Odds are you won’t end up alone, so keep your head up. The best thing you can do for your single life attitude is accept that you could, in fact, make it on your own.
  2. You’ve accomplished so much already. Whether you went to college, have a great job, or have children, you’ve done something wonderful with your life and will do even more wonderful things in the future. Remember your worth and celebrate your accomplishments.
  3. Everybody has problems. This doesn’t mean your problems don’t matter, but you’re also not alone in having them. Chances are, there’s someone else who’s felt exactly the same. Find comfort in knowing that that you’re not the only one, but one in a field of many.
  4. You’re beautiful. Most of the time we look in the mirror and obsess over our imperfections, but what about the stuff you do like? Spend a little time every day admiring the physical attributes you do like. Not only will you learn to love your face and body the way they are, you’ll also become more confident in your love life.
  5. You’ve come a long way. Think about where you started. Maybe you had a rough home life, maybe you came from a small town, or maybe you never thought you’d even make it into college or your career. Wherever you are now, reflect on where you’ve been, and remember you’re not done growing yet.
  6. Today is a new day. Whatever happened yesterday was yesterday. Make a new start with every day. There’s no sense in waking up worried, so start fresh with new goals and a new outlook.
  7. You can make your own luck. Your life, your career, your future are all up to you. Some people want to blame every bad thing on bad luck, but you should never let your fate be determined by the hand you were dealt. The only honest way to make your dreams come true is to work for them.
  8. You have to live for yourself. You should never let others determine your life choices or your self-worth. Your opinion of yourself is the most important. Finding happiness depends on you and no one else can give you that, so stop trying so hard to please others and live for yourself instead.
