PSA: ‘The Princess Bride’ Is Coming To Disney+ On May 1 MGM

The Princess Bride may have come out more than 30 years ago, but it’s just as much of a classic today as it was when it was released, maybe even more so. It has everything a great movie should have: humor, romance, adventure, extremely good-looking actors… you get the drift. Well, now you can relive the magic because The Princess Bride is coming to Disney+ on May 1!

  1. This is how you beat quarantine boredom. The Princess Bride stars Robin Wright and Cary Elwes actually reunited to announce the movie’s addition to Disney+ in a video posted to the streaming service’s Twitter account on Monday. “Are you bored yet?” Elwes asks Wright in the clip. “No!” she says. “You?” He responds,” Not even. But if I was stuck in front of my TV, I could think of some real fun things to watch like that Princess Bride movie we made together.” Ugh, I die!!
  2. There are so many good people in this movie! In addition to Wright and Elwes, there are some other great actors in the movie too, from Mandy Patinkin and Chris Sarandon to Billy Crystal, Fred Savage, and Wallace Shawn. In other words, it’s star-studded.
  3. The Princess Bride is the kind of movie we need right now. The news is full of tragedy and panic every day and life is really uncertain right now in general. Watching a light-hearted fantasy movie is the ultimate way to distract yourself from the tough stuff and have a little fun for just a few hours.
  4. If you’ve never seen it, now’s your chance. I’ll admit that I was late to the game on this movie and didn’t actually see it until I was technically an adult. I know, I lived a very sheltered life! However, I’m not here to shame anyone, so if you’ve never seen The Princess Bride, tuning into Disney+ in a couple of weeks will allow you to solve that issue.
  5. Mark your calendars! May 1 is the day. Don’t forget!
