A Colombian woman who trained to become a nun had a major career change when she decided to quit the church and become a porn star instead. Yudy Pineda has always considered herself a devoted Catholic, but that didn’t stop her from signing a lucrative deal with BangBros, the Miami-based studio behind some of the most popular adult films.

  1. The 28-year-old is diving right in. Her first movie had a nun-monk motif, which might seem sacrilegious to some but to others may seem rather fitting. After all, someone who’s spent so much time focusing on God might as well incorporate Him into her career, I guess?
  2. Pineda thought that the nunnery was her calling. Talking to local media, The Sun reports that Pineda was inspired to become a nun at the age of 10, saying, “I went to Uraba and I was at school when nuns came to visit us, and I knew then that I wanted to do that.” She remained at the convent for eight years before eventually quitting when she fell in love with a religious teacher.
  3. She was soon recruited to become a cam girl. While working for Nestle in the town of Medellin, she happened to meet a man named Juan Bustos who was looking for women to join his adult webcam site. She was hired on the spot and while she “felt bad at first,” she now insists she’s “fine with it.”
  4. She hasn’t lost her faith despite her career. While many would assume that Pineda’s decision to leave the nunnery meant she left her Catholic faith behind too, that’s not the case at all. “I also feel good when I go to church. I never miss Friday prayers, Saturday meetings or Sunday mass,” she said.
  5. Pineda knows there’s nothing wrong with her career. She’s described it as “decent and artistic” and insisted that there’s “nothing bad about it.” If that’s her choice, why not? As long as she’s happy and safe, there’s nothing wrong with it.
