Woman’s Rare Health Condition Causes ‘Constant Arousal’ But Makes Sex Too Painful

A rare health condition causes one Florida woman to experience “constant arousal” even outside the bedroom but makes having sex too painful to enjoy. Lior Orif Schwartz suffers from persistent genital arousal disorder (PGAD), leaving her regularly ready to get busy but having to stop short due to the discomfort.

  1. It all started with genital pains. Despite not being in a sexual situation, Lior noticed she was getting pain in her genital area that tended to get worse whenever she was stressed or during the evening hours. It got so bad that the 28-year-old was unable to have sex with her now-husband Jonathan as it hurt too much. Thankfully, he was very understanding.
  2. A trip to the doctor gave Lior a diagnosis. When she sought medical help, Lior’s doctor diagnosed her with PGAD along with pelvic floor dysfunction, which was likely behind the pain. To treat the condition, Lior not only had to go through extensive physical therapy sessions but also abstain from sex altogether during the treatment.
  3. She eventually had to seek surgical intervention. Tired of the six years of pain she experienced during sex, Lior eventually went under the knife, first trying Botox injections in her prudential nerves and then, in September 2019, undergoing a vestibulectomy, a procedure which removes the vestibular and hymen skin.
  4. Thankfully, the surgery worked! Lior and her husband are now able to have sex and actually enjoy it since Lior is relatively pain-free. While she has been advised to use a dilator 10 minutes or so before getting intimate just to ensure she’s okay, it all seems to have worked out much better for the couple and they say their relationship is stronger than ever.
  5. Now, Lior wants to spread the word about her condition. She’s well-aware that there are many misconceptions and a huge lack of information out there about PGAD and pelvic floor disorders and she’s happily speaking out hoping to educate and give solace to those who might be experiencing something similar.
