A 55-year-old woman who’s spent more than $30,000 on tattoos hopes to prove that older people can look just as good with ink as those in their twenties and thirties. Kerstin Ehe, from Leizpig, Germany, didn’t start getting tattoos until 2015, when she was 50, but immediately fell in love and just hasn’t stopped. Frankly, she looks amazing!

  1. Kerstin didn’t realize how much she’d love tattoos. The full-time taxi driver decided to get her first tattoo five years ago and she wanted it on her hand. However, the artist thought it might be too painful for her first time so she got one on her arm instead. “The first-ever tattoo I got was going to be on my hand which my tattoo artist didn’t actually want to do because she thought it would be too painful for my first time,” she said according to Metro. “We started at the top of my upper arm and I always wanted to have more and more added after that.”
  2. She loves having such beautiful artwork on her body. It’s easy to understand why people who love tattoos get addicted to them — wearing such vibrant, beautiful pieces of art on your body is awesome. That’s definitely what drew Kerstin to it. “I enjoy looking so beautiful, colorful, and extraordinary. I like making people smile with my tattoos of flowers and butterflies and I wanted something that would last for eternity,” she explained.
  3. All of Kerstin’s spare cash goes to tattoos. While some people might think it’s crazy that Kerstin spends so much cash on ink, she simply sees it as her one true passion. “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t go on holidays, I don’t have an expensive apartment, I invest everything I have in tattoos. I’ve spent between €25,000 to €30,000 on them,” she explained.
  4. No, they didn’t hurt that bad. While she admits to feeling “a bit of a tickle” when she got her ribs, feet, and ankles tattoos, she insists that getting tattoos isn’t really that painful and that really “it’s all in the head.”
  5. Everyone loves Kerstin’s ink judging by her Instagram account. She now has nearly 110,000 followers on Instagram, all of whom love to see the beautiful tattoos she puts on full display regularly. You go, Kerstin – you look great for any age!
