A man wanted by police in Wales has drawn tons of attention online, but not for the crime he’s committed. Gwent Police have urged tipsters who know 30-year-old Lewis Maxwell and where he might be to come forward, but the tips they’ve been receiving have been less about his whereabouts and more about his uncanny resemblance to Beaker from The Muppets.

- Maxwell is wanted for breaching a court order. It’s unclear what exactly his court order is for, but needless to say, he seems like more of a petty criminal than a dangerous killer or anything. Perhaps that’s why it was so easy for commenters online to make light of his appearance and have a little fun with his mugshot.
- He does look alarmingly like Beaker, don’t you think? If I didn’t know any better, I would think that’s Dr. Honeydew’s assistant at first glance! When you look at them side by side, it’s impossible not to notice even a vague similarity, to be honest…
- Others compared him to Sideshow Bob from The Simpsons. As one jokester commented on Gwent Police’s post, “Ain’t that the guy that tried to kill Bart?” Another added: “Last seen on The Simpsons, he’s mates with Krusty the clown, think his alias is Bob.”
- In all seriousness, do let police know if you see him. “We are appealing to help locate 30-year-old Lewis Maxwell from Newport,” a spokeswoman for the force said. “Officers would like to speak to him following a breach of a court order. Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Gwent Police.”
