Surveillance footage has been released that shows a Walmart employee knocking out an unruly customer with a single punch after the customer spat at them. World Star Hip Hop uploaded the video this week showing the customer wearing black shorts, sneakers, a baseball cap, and an orange sweatshirt ramming his shopping cart into a display of American flags to box the worker in. Soon after, the worker had enough.
- Security tried stepping in on the brawl. While there’s no doubt that employees should never have to put up with being spat on by a customer, the employee wasn’t about to take this treatment lying down and immediately went after the customer. The video shows the security guard stepping in and trying to hold the employee back, but he soon breaks free.
- After the worker breaks free, the customer tries to back away. However, it’s too late – the employee is enraged at the customer and isn’t about to put up with it anymore. He immediately goes over to the customer and throws a punch to the back of the customer’s head. What happens next is insane.
- The customer is knocked out in a single punch. While the worker doesn’t punch the man in the face, he does hit his head and it’s enough to knock the customer out cold. Soon after the punch is delivered, the customer falls over unconscious immediately and hits the floor. The video shows other customers and employees gathering around to watch the scene that’s just unfolded in absolute shock.
- The employee lost his job over the incident. Walmart spokesperson Casey Staheli confirmed that the company was aware of the event that took place and that the employee in question no longer worked there and was in fact an independent contractor anyway. “The man who punched the customer was a contracted, third-party security worker and not a Walmart associate. He has since been banned from working at Walmart stores,” she said.
