Texas Lawyer Fined For Walking On Beach Dressed Like Michael Myers From ‘Halloween’

A Texas lawyer was cited for disorderly conduct after he was seen walking across a beach dressed like Halloween villain Michael Myers. Officers from the Galveston Police Department received a 911 call about a man walking along the shore with what appeared to be a bloody knife, though by the time they cuffed Mark Metzger III, they realized it was all a ruse, KTRK reports. He was released after he was given his citation.

  1. It was a “silly” stunt but it did make people laugh. Local resident Adam Garrison said Metzger just wanted attention in the middle of a storm threatening the coast. That being said, he still laughed at the antics – how could you not? Metzger himself said he just wanted to find “a little positivity in the gloomy doom.”
  2. Some people were into it, at least. Metzger said that a few people had stopped him to ask for a photo, while the Beach Patrol spotted him and started playing the Halloween movie theme song. At the end of the day, he’s not worried about the haters. “I guess there’s some people out there that don’t have a sense of humor or, you know, can’t please them all,” Metzger said.
  3. Metzger wasn’t too pleased with the tattle-tales. Why anyone had to call the authorities on him is beyond Metzger, who was just having some fun. “It felt like a scene out of ‘Scooby-Doo’ after they handcuffed me and pulled the mask off, like, I would have gotten away with it if wasn’t for those meddling Karens, you know?” he told KTRK.
  4. He has no regrets and would do the same thing again. “Bring positive vibes to the gloom and doom out there, generating some laughter, helping people crack a smile, and restoring our faith in humanity through humor is 100% what I’m about. It’s all I’ve been about my entire life. My methods might not work for everyone, but I guarantee I’ll please more than I’ll piss off,” he wrote in a Facebook post following his arrest. “So if taking a silly walk down the beach during a storm in a costume, and subsequently being arrested for disorderly conduct accomplished any of that … then I’d do it again all every day.” Good for him!
