Keanu Reeves Says He And Winona Ryder Have Been ‘Married For 30 Years’

Keanu Reeves said that he and longtime friend Winona Ryder have actually been married for the past 30 years. How could they have gotten hitched without realizing it, you ask? Well, it all goes back to when they were filming Dracula back in 1992.

  1. To be clear, both Reeves and Ryder have long-term partners. Reeves is with artist Alexandra Grant, while Ryder has been with Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011. However, current relationships aside, the actors could be legally bound to one another.
  2. Reeves and Ryder’s characters got married in Dracula. Obviously they know the difference between acting and real life, but given that they used “real priests” during filming, it could be that their on-screen marriage was actually legit.
  3. Reeves opened up about the topic in an interview with Esquire last year. “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests. Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married under the eyes of God,” he said.
  4. Ryder has been talking about her so-called marriage to Reeves since 2018. She told Entertainment Weekly: “We actually got married in Dracula. No, I swear to God I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola, the film’s director] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.”
  5. So what’s the deal? Are Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder actually married? The world may never know. However, they do remain good friends as well as faithful to their respective partners, so it probably doesn’t matter. It is, however, a lot of fun to think about.
