Woman Accused Of Decapitating Lover And Putting His Head In A Bucket Pleads Not Guilty

A Wisconsin woman who allegedly choked her lover to death before decapitating him and leaving his head in a bucket for his mother to find pleaded not guilty to his murder during a court appearance on Tuesday. Taylor D. Schabusiness, 24, had been charged with first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and third-degree sexual assault in relation to the death of Shad Thyrion.

  1. Lawyers for Schabusiness entered not guilty pleas on all counts. During a brief hearing at Brown County Court on July 5, her lawyer stated that his client had no intention of copping to any of the charges against her. Law & Crime adds that during a previous hearing, the same lawyer told the judge that Schabusiness has bipolar disorder and has been receiving mental health treatment since seventh grade.
  2. The accusations against her are horrific. On February 23, Green Bay police were contacted by a woman who said she’d found her 25-year-old son’s head in a bucket, WBAY reported. The bucket also contained a “male organ” and other body parts were found in storage totes around the house. Schabusiness had been at the house the previous night and was heard leaving sometime between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Schabusiness had been the last person to see the victim alive.
  3. Police found Schabusiness at home covered in dried blood. They then decided to search her minivan, where they found a crock pot containing “additional human body parts including legs.” They then questioned Schaubusiness about what happened, to which she replied: “That is a good question.” #
  4. Her version of events was questionable. Schabusiness reportedly told investigators that she and the victim had been smoking meth all day and then went to his mother’s house to have sex. At some point, she admitted to blacking out and going “crazy,” strangling him with a chain. While she didn’t mean to kill him, she said she enjoyed choking him, and since she was “already this far,” she decided to keep going. “Schabusiness responded that the police were going to have fun trying to find all of the organs as she dismembered the body,” the police report revealed.
  5. A trial is set for October 24, 2022. If convicted, Schabusiness could spend the rest of her life in prison. Given the overwhelming evidence against her in relation to the murder of Shad Thyrion, it seems unlikely she will be acquitted, but this is America and crazier things have happened.
