While many people believe that vaping is healthier than smoking cigarettes, doctors are refuting that claim and pointing out that in fact, disposable vapes can be even more hazardous to your health.

- Elf Bars are one of the worst offenders. However, they’re not the only ones. All disposable vapes that entice customers with bright colors and sweet flavors come with their share of health risks, as Dr. Onkar Mudhar says in a TikTok video.
- One Elf Bar is “equivalent to about 48 to 50 cigarettes.” Dr. Mudhar warns “don’t do it” in the caption to his clip, in which he explained that disposable vapes are full of “super addictive” nicotine, which is just the beginning. “Not only is nicotine in these devices super addictive, but it also puts you at risk of developing gum disease, dry mouth, tooth decay, and early tooth loss. Furthermore, they can also cause bad breath. So try and avoid these at all costs.”
- They may seem healthier now, but just wait. Dr. Mudhar isn’t the only doctor warning against vaping. Dr. Gareth Nye predicts that in about a decade, we could be dealing with a “whole generation” of 30-year-olds that have serious lung issues as a result of vaping. He also says there’s a “worrying notion” among younger people that vaping is totally safe, which is “completely not true.”
- Many countries around the world are cracking down on vaping. The EU has proposed a potential ban on all vaping devices as they fear too many children are becoming addicted. In Australia, schools are installing vape detectors since kids as young as 12 have been hiding in the bathrooms to smoke. It’s a serious problem that needs addressing.
