Whether or not you’re a fan of her music — and let’s be honest, pretty much everyone is — you have to love Adele. She’s hilarious, down-to-earth, and a total diva in all the best ways. She also knows how to keep a low profile, making the rare appearances she does make all the more meaningful, especially on social media. That’s why when she posted a new selfie on Tuesday night to commemorate her 32nd birthday, people were freaking out.
- She looks like a completely different person! I think it’s ridiculous to equate a woman to her weight/body shape/appearance in general, but you can’t ignore the fact that Adele has undergone some major weight loss. Many sources claim that she was aiming to improve her health for the sake of her 7-year-old son, Angelo, but whatever the reason, she looks amazing!
- Let’s be clear: Adele’s weight loss isn’t the reason she looks great. Yes, it’s good to be healthy, but you cannot tell a person’s health by the number on the scale. Adele looked just as incredible when she was heavier as she does now.
- Adele looks so happy and that’s great. Perhaps the biggest reason Adele’s new selfie is so amazing is because she looks genuinely happy. Of course, we don’t know anything about her life because she’s a celebrity and not our friend (unfortunately), but at least it seems like she’s doing well, and I genuinely hope that’s the case.
- Weight loss or not, Adele is a total queen. There have been rumors floating around that she’s due for a new album sometime this year and I’ve never hoped gossip was true more than I have when I heard that. She’s the queen of breakup songs and it’s been way too long since we had some new ones from her. Fingers crossed her reappearance on Instagram means new music is ahead.
