I don’t know about you, but lockdown has made me incredibly nostalgic and I find myself listening to the music I loved in my youth more and more. Thankfully, this new pastime goes hand in hand with the fact that Alanis Morissette is doing a Jagged Little Pill livestream on Tuesday, May 19 so I can enjoy singing the hits at the top of my lungs.
- Alanis Morissette was due to go on a Jagged Little Pill anniversary tour later this year. To celebrate the legendary album’s 25th anniversary, Morissette planned to go on tour around the US throughout June and July. She was even going to bring Garbage and Liz Phair along with her! Sadly, because of the current situation, that’s not happening now.
- The Jagged Little Pill livestream will have to suffice for now. Morissette is nothing if not a true performer and since she doesn’t want to let her fans down, she’s decided to host an event called “You Live, You Learn: A Night with Alanis Morissette and Jagged Little Pill” at 8 p.m. EST on Tuesday, May 19. I haven’t been so excited for a virtual event in forever!
- The event features actors and songs from the Jagged Little Pill Broadway musical. Not only will Alanis Morissette be part of the event, but so will the cast of the Broadway show based on her music. We’re basically getting two shows in one, which is pretty amazing.
- It’s for a great cause! While the livestream is free to watch on any of Jagged Little Pill‘s social media channels, from the show’s Facebook page and YouTube. However, the purpose of Alanis Morisette and the Broadway cast coming together is to encourage donations to The Actors Fund. Even if you can’t afford much, any donations would be much appreciated.
