I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Aldi has the best cheap booze options. They always come up with the most ingenious drinks that I never would have thought to try but that end up being super delicious. Already this year they’ve given us mango Moscato wine and pina colada wine, just to name a couple, and now they’ve come out with coconut wine that would go so well in all your summer cocktails.
- Petit Coconut Wine Specialty is the new summer jam. Instagrammer @aldi.mademedoit found the bottle at her local shop and was kind enough to share it with us so that we can all rush out and buy, like, a case. You just know this is going into pretty much 95% of all the cocktails I make this summer, and I suggest you do the same.
- So what’s this actually like? If you find it hard to imagine what coconut wine would actually be like, the bottle describes it as a “blend of white wine, with rich coconut flavor, and finest cream.” If that’s still not clear enough, tastings.com says it has “aromas of coconut cream and white chocolate cookie with a creamy, vibrant, sweet light-to-medium body and a warming, breezy buttermilk pie, coconut macaroon, vanilla yogurt, and white pepper finish.” Sorry, BRB, I gotta go to Aldi.
- While Aldi doesn’t advertise their coconut wine as a cocktail mixer, it’s a great idea. Several people in the comments thought this stuff would be great in pina coladas. Another revealed that they actually added banana and ice to it to make a boozy smoothie of sorts and they loved it. The only limits here are your imagination!
- At only $8 a bottle, you really can’t go wrong. Hit up your local Aldi for some coconut wine. The 750 ml bottle is about $8 and with an ABV of 13.9%, you’re bound to get a little buzz on without needing to drink the whole bottle, which is always a good thing. Happy cocktail making!
