A private ambulance driver was left feeling mortified after the stereo of his vehicle blasted “Another One Bites The Dust” by Queen while parked outside of a funeral home. The incident, which was captured on video, took place outside Co-op Funeralcare in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight in the UK, with several passers-by remarking on and laughing about the rather unfortunate timing.
- There was no ill will involved with this. Before you think the ambulance driver was making some kind of macabre inappropriate joke, think again. This wasn’t done on purpose – the song literally just came on the radio while the driver happened to be parked outside of a funeral home.
- The person who filmed it was shocked but amused. “I was walking to my doctor to post a prescription when I suddenly saw a private ambulance with a driver’s door open,” the anonymous person said. “It was just outside the Co-op funeral parlor. But I couldn’t believe it as I got closer I heard Another One Bites the Dust by Queen playing out on the radio. Some would say it was great comedy timing. It was real dark humor.”
- You can’t not laugh at this. To be honest, I feel like I’d probably find it hilarious even if I was attending a service there. It’s the kind of bizarre humor that no one can plan and that is just so ridiculous that it’s funny. It actually gives what’s likely a very traumatic situation a bit of much-needed levity. Can’t be mad about that!
