Sure, it’s easy enough to hit up the grocery or liquor store to pick up your favorite booze, but if you’ve run out of crafting projects to do and you’re sick of baking banana bread, why not try your hand at making your own alcohol? The recipe for apple pie moonshine couldn’t be simpler and it’s delicious too. What’s not to love?
- It’s like drinking your dessert! If you’re someone who prefers booze on the sweeter side, apple pie moonshine is basically the perfect drink for you. It combines one of the tastiest, most classic desserts ever into hardcore alcohol to get you drunk and satisfy your sweet tooth at the same time. Score!
- The ingredients are easy enough to get a hold of. While you will need quite a few different things to make your own moonshine, you might have at least half of them in your cabinets already! AllRecipes’ version calls for 1 gallon of apple juice, 1 gallon of apple cider, 2 cups of white sugar, 2 cups of brown sugar, 4 cinnamon sticks, 1 pinch of apple pie spice, 750ml of grain alcohol, and 750ml of vodka.
- It’s a LOT of booze. The fact that you’re using both grain alcohol and vodka in this apple pie moonshine recipe should tell you that it really packs a punch on the booze front. You’ll need to pace yourself and sip slowly unless you want to get very wasted very quickly. And hey, maybe you do! I’m not here to judge.
- It’s really simple to make. All you do is boil down all the non-alcoholic ingredients for about an hour and then add the booze and let it cool. It really is that easy! Once it’s no longer hot, you can pour it into a pitcher, mason jars, or wherever else you plan on storing it (for however long it lasts, that is!).
- If you don’t love apple pie, you can try other flavors! If you want a different flavor to your moonshine, it’s all good! It’s A Keeper has a great recipe for peach moonshine and Wide Open Eats has a cherry pie moonshine recipe that sounds really tasty too. The only trouble is figuring out which to make first!
