A group of hot Australian firemen have once again stripped down for a good cause, posing with adorable animals for the 2021 Australian Firefighters Calendar to raise funds for animal welfare organizations. The calendar has been a yearly offering since 2015 with over $1 million raised in the past five years. However, the 2021 version looks to be better than ever!
- There are actually six versions to choose from. Each of the calendars for 2021 focus on a different theme, from an animal lover’s version to a one focusing on the heroic efforts of the firefighters. There’s a little something for everyone, but all of the calendars benefit great causes. Given that an estimated one billion creatures were killed in the bushfires, dedicating proceeds to helping wildlife was a no-brainer.
- This year’s calendars celebrate the heroes that fought the Aussie bushfires this year. They had a devastating impact not only on the Australian landscape but on the wildlife that inhabits it, and the brave men and women who fought to put those fires out deserve celebration. Now, they’ll be immortalized forever! “No one was left unaffected watching our precious wildlife trying to escape from the bushfires, and the loss of wildlife is beyond comprehension,” said calendar director David Rogers.
- The animals in the calendar were brought in by the firefighters themselves! “As COVID-19 restricted our access to many rescue animals, the Australian public were asked to bring their own rescued furry friends to the photoshoot to help create these calendars,” Rogers explained. “Funds raised will allow us to help less fortunate animals find a new home through rescue organizations like Safe Haven Animal Rescue and All Breeds Canine Rescue.”
