The National Beard And Moustache Championships Are The Home Of Some Pretty Serious Facial Hair

Many men can grow facial hair, but only a select few are up to the task of creating looks so unique and downright extreme at times that they can make it all the way to the National Beard and Moustache Championships. The 2019 event was home to some pretty impressive ‘dos and the pictures will blow your mind.

  1. The championships took place in November last year. The National Beard and Moustache Championships were held in Tinley Park, Illinois on November 8 and 9, 2019. With more than 50 categories for the various facial hair styles and six craft categories, it’s clear this competition represented the best of the best.
  2. Las Vegas photographer Greg Anderson was on hand to document the experience. His collection of photos, which he posted to his Facebook page, are outstanding. They show some of the most insanely genius contestants and their facial hair looks that you have to see to actually believe (and even then, they’re hard to comprehend).
  3. I didn’t even realize an event like this existed! While you occasionally see photos of dudes with crazy facial hair, I literally had no idea that there was such a thing as a National Beard and Moustache Championships or that there are enough people with extreme enough looks to warrant participating! Just goes to show you learn something new every day.
  4. The 2020 championships look to be just as awesome. They’ve yet to choose a venue for this year’s event and there’s no set date, but it should be around the same time, meaning you have several months to prepare for a trip to check out the looks if this is something you’d like to see in person (and why wouldn’t you?). You can find out more information on the National Beard and Moustache Championships website, which will be updated when they know more details.
