Beyond Meat Exec Bit Man’s Face & Ripped Part Of Nose Off In Parking Rage Incident

Doug Ramsey, the 53-year-old Chief Operating Officer at veggie company Beyond Meat, was arrested on Saturday night and charged with third-degree battery and terroristic threatening over a rage-filled incident in which he bit the flesh off a man’s nose. The incident happened in Arkansas, where his Class A misdemeanor charges carry a sentence of up to one year in prison and a fine of up to $2,500.

  1. It all started because of traffic. After watching the Arizona Razorbacks beat the Missouri State Bears, Ramsey and other spectators headed to a parking garage. Not long after, police were alerted to a disturbance at Gate 15. Once there, they were shocked to see the violence that had unfolded.
  2. Police found “two males with bloody faces.” After speaking to both men and a witness, they began to put together a picture of what happened. KNWA reports: “Ramsey was allegedly in the traffic lane of the structure, attempting to leave, when a Subaru ‘inched his way’ in front of Ramsey’s Bronco, making contact with the front passenger’s side tire. According to the report, Ramsey got out of his vehicle and allegedly ‘punched through the back windshield of the Subaru.'”
  3. Ramsey was filled with rage. After punching through the windshield, the other man got out of the car and told police that Ramsey “pulled him in close and started punching his body.” At one point, Ramsey is said to have bit the other man’s nose, “ripping the flesh on the tip of the nose.” The man told police that Ramsey “threatened to kill” him before other people separated them.
  4. Ramsey was taken into custody and booked him into the Washington County Jail. He posted bond of $11,085 and was released just before noon the following morning. He’s due to appear in court on October 19.
