Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, has announced her first pregnancy. Irwin and husband Chandler Powell, who married in March in a private ceremony at Australia Zoo, shared their happy news with their Instagram followers on August 12, captioning a post of them holding a mini zookeeper’s uniform with “Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021.”
- It’s the first child for 22-year-old Bindi and her husband. “Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting! It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you,” Bindi wrote. “Though I’m still in my first trimester, we really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter. We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives.”
- The couple also made sure to thank their supporters. “Your support means the world to us. Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes & prayers to our little sweetheart. Love & light,” Bindi closed out her post. That’s so sweet!
- Chandler is super excited to be a father. “Becoming a dad is the highlight of my life. I cannot wait to embark on this new adventure and life chapter with my gorgeous wife,” he added. For sure, parenthood is one of the most exciting adventures you can embark on in life and these two are sure to give their little one their absolute best.
- It’s just such a shame that Steve Irwin isn’t around to see it. You just know he would have gotten such a kick out of having a grandchild and being able to teach it all about the wonders of nature and how to have respect and admiration for wildlife. Who knows, maybe if it’s a boy, they’ll name the baby after him!
