While you wouldn’t think the type of car you drive would have any effect on your actual road skills, that’s apparently not the case. Or, at the very least, your car definitely has something to do with how other people on the road perceive your skills behind the wheel. According to a recent survey by Moneybarn, BMW owners come out at the top of the list… for terrible driving! Whether or not you agree, the consensus is pretty clear on this one.
- Moneybarn surveyed 4,000 people about their driving perceptions. To get an idea of how people feel about other drivers and cars on the road, participants were asked a series of questions that shed a serious light on just how bad many believe BMW drivers are.
- A whopping 39.1% of participants said BMW drivers are the worst. Many believed that BMW drivers are more likely to cause an accident, which is pretty mad. It seems this does echo the general public, as a quick Google search for the term “Why are BMW driver…” auto-fills with some pretty interesting things: “so hated,” “idiots,” and “arrogant” are just a few.
- Audi drivers aren’t thought all that highly of either. However, only 14.1% of people believed Audi drivers were the worst. Further, 7.9% named white van drivers as terrible, with 4.6% calling out Range Rover owners and 4.2% calling out those who have a Ford. Bit random, but sure!
- Do BMW drivers get an unfair bad rap? That depends on who you ask, I suppose! Let’s be real – there are bad drivers behind the wheel of all kinds of makes, so it’s probably just a little unfounded.
