Brian Laundrie and an unidentified “older woman” are said to have bought a burner phone on the very day of his disappearance. Federal investigators are said to be trying to track down the phone after the purchase was caught on surveillance footage at the AT&T store in North Port, Florida on September 14, the last day Laundrie was seen, TMZ reports.

  1. September 14 is the last day Laundrie was seen. That is if you believe his parents, who said that he left their home that day with a backpack and was headed to a nearby nature reserve but never returned. However, they didn’t report him missing until September 17, giving him three days to get away.
  2. It’s unclear how authorities discovered the purchase. However, once it was discovered, FBI agents are said to have visited the store and seized the footage to use in their investigation.
  3. The Laundrie family lawyer confirmed that they purchased a new phone. However, Steve Bertolino claims that the phone was left behind by Brian at the home and that the FBI already has it. The FBI hasn’t confirmed whether or not that’s true.
  4. Hopefully Dog the Bounty Hunter finds Laundrie soon. Duane Chapman got involved with the search following Brian Laundrie’s disappearance and says not only is he alive, but he’s getting closer to finding him. Let’s hope that happens soon so that Laundrie can face questioning and, more importantly, justice.
