Season 2 Of Bridgerton Has Officially Started Filming

Season 2 Of Bridgerton Has Officially Started Filming Nick Briggs/Netflix

It’s official: Bridgerton Season 2 has finally started filming! Granted, some fans will find it hard to get excited, especially since the news comes hot on the heels of the revelation that Regé-Jean Page won’t be returning as the Duke of Hastings in the new batch of episodes. However, the fact that we’ll soon get to be reunited with our favorite London aristocrats is still worth celebrating!

  1. Season 2 of Bridgerton is all about Anthony Bridgerton. While the first season focused on the romance between Daphne and Simon, Season 2 is shifting the focus to another member of the Bridgerton family: Anthony. After all, we know he also wants to find love and settle down, but will he manage to do so? How many missteps will he make along the way? I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see!
  2. The show has been filming at the Ascot Racecourse in England. Jonathan Bailey, the actor who plays Anthony, was spotted at the infamous racecourse along with newcomer Simone Ashley, who plays Anthony’s love interest Kate Sharma, on April 30. The pair were dressed to the nines in full costume as cameras rolled, though it’s hard to say what was happening in the scenes they were filming.
  3. Kate will certainly put Anthony through his paces. When Ashley was cast in the role of Kate in February, the new character was described as “smart, headstrong young woman who suffers no fools — Anthony Bridgerton very much included.” Anthony needs someone who won’t let him get away with nonsense, so this should be fun to watch!
  4. It’s unclear when Season 2 of Bridgerton will actually premiere. At the moment, filming is still in the early stages and may go a little slower than normal given that COVID-19 restrictions and safety procedures are still in place. However, all good things are worth waiting for, so I’m sure we’re in for a real treat when the new episodes finally hit Netflix. Here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later!
