Britney Spears Announces ‘Devastating’ Miscarriage News

Britney Spears has announced that she has sadly suffered a miscarriage. The singer took to Instagram on Saturday, May 14 to reveal that she and husband Sam Asghari had “lost our miracle baby.” She asked for privacy as they deal with their grief.

  1. The 40-year-old has always wanted to have a family with Asghari. Spears, who is a mother of two teenage sons, had been prevented from having more children as part of the terms of her conservatorship, which she only recently escaped after 13 years. She was finally free to fulfill her dream of having children with Asghari and was thrilled to be pregnant.
  2. Sadly, Spears suffered a miscarriage in the first trimester. Writing in her Instagram post, Spears explained: “It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent. Perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, however, we were overly excited to share the good news.”
  3. The couple hasn’t given up hope of having a child together. Spears’ post went on to say that she and Asghari plan to continue trying to become parents together. “Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family,” she wrote.
  4. Here’s hoping Spears and Asghari find peace. Miscarriage is devastating to go through, but thankfully they have one another for love and support. Hopefully, they’ll get to have a child together soon.
