Britney Spears is apparently set to marry fiance Sam Asghari in an “intimate” wedding ceremony set for Thursday, June 9. TMZ reports that only about 100 people have been invited to the celebration, though there are some noticeable absences on the guest list.
- Most people in Spears’s family didn’t get an invite. Sources close to Spears tell TMZ that while her brother Bryan will be in attendance, her mom, dad, and sister Jamie Lynn have not been invited and won’t be there. Not exactly shocking given the strained relationship between them.
- It’s not known who will be giving Spears away. While this role is generally filled by the bride’s father, since Jamie Spears will not be there, someone else will have to take on the role. The source says details about this are still being worked out.
- A video Spears posted on Instagram on Wednesday certainly hinted at a wedding. In the video, she showed off her engagement ring as well as her freshly done nails. She and Asghari also rode around town in a Rolls Royce drinking champagne. Seems like the only way for Britney Spears to get ready for her wedding!
- The ceremony has been in the works for a while now. Asghari originally proposed last September, but it was unknown when they would tie the knot. On several occasions, Spears has referred to Ashgari as her husband, and now it really will be true in a few short hours, it seems. It’s been hinted that Donatella Versace may have designed her wedding dress, but again, that has yet to be confirmed. I’m sure we’ll get to see way more of what went down after the fact. In the meantime, it’s time for Britney Spears to enjoy the happiness that was kept from her for so long and live it up at her wedding.
