Chili’s not only has delicious baby back ribs, they also have a monthly $5 margarita that rotates monthly flavor-wise. All of them are tasty and a total bargain, but their January 2020 release just might beat them all because it has the mother of all tequilas: Patron.

- The Patron ‘Rita sounds like heaven in a glass. It’s made with fresh sour, a salty side rim, and of course, silver Patron tequila. Anyone who’s ever bought Patron before knows that stuff isn’t cheap, so the fact that Chili’s is using it in their margaritas this month means I need to get there ASAP.
- That being said, Chili’s does always have Patron on tap. If you go to Chili’s at any other time of the year, it’s possible to order a standard margarita and then just upgrade the tequila to Patron for a pretty hefty additional cost. For January only, you won’t pay a cent more since the Patron comes standard. Happy New Year to all of us!
- Does tequila choice really matter? A lot of people would say that what brand of tequila you use in a mixed drink like margaritas isn’t important because the other flavors overtake it and after all, you’re just trying to get drunk. However, I think it’s totally possible to taste the difference in high-quality alcohol so I’m all about the Patron, thank you. And for such a good price, why would you settle for anything less? It’s just common sense.
- You have a few weeks left to get yourself over to Chili’s. The Patron ‘Rita waits for no one and will only be around at its $5 price until January 31, so I recommend getting the girls together and bringing your appetite to hit up some delicious food and drinks in style. No one has ever regretted a margarita or 10, right?
