A “chivalrous” boyfriend made the gentlemanly move of giving his girlfriend the hood of his jacket to keep her hair dry as the couple walked through a downpour in Northwich, Cheshire in the UK. No doubt she will have appreciated the gesture, but there’s just one problem: he kept the actual jacket for himself. The strange sight was recorded by local Jake Shannon, who happened to be driving by at the time and was tickled by what was going on.
- Jake shared the clip with his Facebook followers. The clip shows the pair walking, the woman holding the hood tight over her head and the man holding her hand as they stroll along through the downpour. “You love your young lady… however do you love her enough to give her the hood off your jacket!? [This] man’s setting principles around here that I can’t meet,” Jake captioned the video.
- He’s pretty sure the woman just had her hair done. Jake imagines that the woman just got a haircut and that the guy had paid for it, hence his consideration for her head. “It was pounding it down. I figure he has paid for her hair style and didn’t need it demolished. It’s without a doubt – I would do likewise in the event that I’d paid for my missus’ hair,” he joked. “I have no clue about why he decided to simply give her the hood and not the entire coat. He likely didn’t have any desire to get wet himself however thought he better secure her hair.”
- Jake himself would never do that. The strange arrangement did provide plenty of entertainment, but Jake insists he’d never do that to the lady in his life. In fact, he wouldn’t think twice before taking his coat off and handing the whole thing over. “I believe it’s extremely uncommon, it’s very imaginative. In the event that I was out when it was coming down, I would simply give my missus my jacket,” he said. “I could never think to unfasten the hood and simply give her that. I figure my missus would simply take my jacket off me.”
