Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Extraction’ Could Be Netflix’s Biggest Ever Movie Premiere Netflix

With more than 167 million subscribers worldwide, Netflix isn’t ever at a loss when it comes to viewers for its new series and movies. However, the new Chris Hemsworth flick Extraction may be breaking some records, with the lead actor himself claiming that it’s on track to become the “biggest-ever film premiere” on the streaming service.

  1. To be fair, a lot of people have tuned into this. Since Netflix released Extraction last month, nearly 90 million people have watched it, which is pretty impressive. That’s more than half of their subscribers!
  2. So what’s it about? Extraction centers on Tyler Rake (Hemsworth), a mercenary who travels to Bangladesh to save a drug lord’s kidnapped son. Netflix describes the movie as a “non-stop action thriller,” and to be fair, it is filled with plenty of grit and violence as well as some pretty intense stunt scenes.
  3. Seriously, this movie is an action lover’s dream. If you live for fast-paced intensity in the movies you watch, Extraction is for you. Former Marvel Cinematic Universe stunt coordinator Sam Hargrave directed this one, so that should tell you something. In fact, the movie even includes as 12-minute scene that Hemsworth described as one of the most complicated he’s ever been part of.
  4. Hemsworth is pretty thrilled with the reception. After Netflix revealed how well Extraction is doing on the platform, Hemsworth took to social media to thank fans for watching it and to say how happy he is that it’s doing so well. “We are absolutely blown away by the response this film has been getting! If you haven’t seen it yet, get on to @Netflix and check it out!he wrote on Instagram.
  5. The next time you’re looking for something to watch, give Extraction a try. Hey, 90 million people can’t be wrong. (I mean, they probably can, but it’s not like you have anything better to do right now.)
