An Australian woman who ran over her husband of nearly 10 years and his mistress with her BMW has avoided jail. Christie Lee Kennedy, 38, is said to have tracked down David Larkin and Zowie Noring, the woman he was having an affair with, via a locator app on her phone and then hit them with her BMW when she spotted them kissing in March 2021, 9News reports.

  1. You know what they say – hell hath no fury like a woman scorned! Christie Lee Kennedy had a feeling her husband was cheating, so she used the phone locator app to track him all the way to the side of a road in Wavell Heights in Brisbane. There, she saw David and Zowie engaging in a passionate kiss. So, she did what anyone might consider doing in her position – she ran them down.
  2. Kennedy drove down the wrong side of the road “for some time.” She then accelerated in their direction and drove right into them before getting out of her car, grabbing Zowie’s hair, and punching her several times while cursing her out, according to court testimony.
  3. As it turns out, a jury was disinclined to convict her. Perhaps out of sympathy, Kennedy was found not guilty with a majority verdict. She was acquitted of two counts of malicious acts with intent to disable. There were two alternative charges of assault occasioning bodily harm while armed, but the jury became deadlocked and was ultimately discharged. Kennedy eventually plead guilty to dangerous driving.
  4. Christie Lee Kennedy was given a nine-month suspended jail sentence. She was also banned from driving for the next 9 months and has to pay both David Larkin and Zowie Noring $5,000 each. It seems safe to assume that her marriage is now over. Thankfully, neither of the victims was seriously injured from the incident.
